In this August 2022 cars sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all B2-segment hatchbacks in India. Where applicable, we’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all B2-segment hatchbacks for the last 6 months will give you an idea about the 6-month sales trend.

B2-Segment Hatchback August 2022 Car Sales - YoY Change

The Maruti Baleno was the only B2-segment hatchback that 5-figure sales numbers in August YoY comparison
The Toyota Glanza was the biggest gainer, with a 64.36% YoY gain in the month of August 2022
The Honda Jazz continued to show a downward trend in sales. It’s August 2022 sales figures were 29% lower than the same month last year
The Honda Jazz was followed by the Tata Altroz, with a decline of 19.5%

B2-Segment Hatchback August 2022 Car Sales - MoM Change

In terms of MoM sales figures, the Tata Altroz was the only loser, with a 12.5% decline in production numbers
All other cars in the category saw growth in sales number in August of 2022
The Honda Jazz flipped its trend of previous months and displayed a growth of 31.4% and was the top gainer, followed by the Hyundai i20 with 10% growth and Baleno with 2.55% growth in August 2022
The Baleno was the only B2-segment with a 5-figure sales number in August 2022
