Audi’s New 2 Dimensional Four Rings Logo Revealed | V3Cars

Audi have revealed their new logo, which will feature on all Audi cars in the near future. The latest car to sport the new Audi logo is the recently-unveiled Q8 E-Tron. The new Audi logo features a 2 dimensional design with a black and while colour finish.

Audi have restrained from using chrome and opted for a black and white colour palette. The base of the 4 rings is black and the top is highlighted with a bring white colour — giving it a 3D look when inspected closely. With the new logo, Audi aim to have a common brand identity across all platforms and customer touchpoints — be it on a smartphone, showroom display or on an actual car.

At the unveiling, Frederik Kalisch, brand strategist, Audi AG, stated, “As a progressive premium brand, Audi targets modern customers who value high-quality design and attention to detail. There are really only two basic trends in brand presentation and product design today that express precisely this premium quality: That is, on the one hand, the loud and very bold, and on the other, the restrained, pure, and clean.”

Audi are not the only brand who have shifted to a 2 dimensional logo. Audi’s parent group, Volkswagen, also moved to a 2 dimensional VW logo that now feature on all their offerings, including the made-in-India Virtus and Taigun. Furthermore, brands like Renault and Citroen also revealed their new brand identities.

Along with the new logo, Audi have also revealed their new font style called the ‘Audi Type’. The new font will feature on the passenger-side B-pillar of all Audi models that will fall in sight of the passenger while moving in and out of the car.
