2025 Kia Carens Facelift – What We Know So Far

Based on previous spy shots of the Carens, we expect significant changes to the front and rear design of the MPV. The front end of the Kia Carens 2025 will feature redesigned lighting elements, potentially incorporating Kia’s signature “Starmap” LED design with triangular headlights, similar to the EV5. The side profile will likely see fewer changes apart from new alloy wheel designs. The rear is expected to receive vertically stacked taillamps, possibly connected by an LED light strip, and a refreshed bumper.

Inside, the 2025 Carens facelift is expected to receive a substantial upgrade in terms of features. A key addition is a panoramic sunroof, though lower variants might get a single-pane sunroof. The interior could also see the introduction of Kia’s “Trinity” panoramic display, similar to the Syros SUV, comprising a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12-inch LCD instrument cluster, and a separate 5-inch display for climate control. Existing features like ventilated front seats are expected to be carried over, while Kia could potentially add ventilated 2nd-row seats to enhance the Carens’ luxury factor.

Finally, the new Carens facelift could also get ADAS, evidenced by the sensor modules placed on the test mule spotted earlier this year. This addition will put the Carens on par with its Hyundai cousin, the 2025 Alcazar, and enhance its competitive edge against rivals like the Maruti Suzuki XL6. Other safety features, such as a 360-degree camera, 6 airbags, vehicle stability management (VSM), electronic stability control (ESC), hill start assist control, rear parking sensors and camera, downhill brake control, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), are likely to be retained.

Kia Carens Facelift – Powertrain Options

The 2025 Kia Carens is expected to retain its existing powertrain options. These include the following:

  • 1.5-litre normal petrol (115PS, 144Nm) with a 6-speed manual transmission.
  • 1.5-litre turbo petrol (160PS, 253Nm) with 6ACMT and 7DCT transmission options.
  • 1.5-litre diesel (116PS, 250Nm) with 6MT and 6AT transmission options.

A Carens EV is also reportedly in development, expected to launch after the ICE facelift.
