2025 Kia Carens Facelift – All You Need To Know | V3Cars

Kia India are set to launch the Carens facelift in the second week of May. Ahead of its launch, we take a look at the 4 changes Kia are expected to make to the 2025 Carens.

2025 Kia Carens Facelift – All You Need To Know

1. Kia Carens 2025 To Get An Updated Exterior Design

The new Kia Carens is set to receive an updated design as well as a refreshed interior with new features. Recent spy shots suggest a major facelift for the Kia Carens 2025, with notable design revisions to the front and rear. The front end is expected to feature redesigned lighting elements, potentially including Kia’s “Starmap” LED design with triangular headlights, drawing inspiration from the EV5. The side profile will likely see minimal changes apart from updated alloy wheel designs. The rear could receive vertically stacked taillamps linked by an LED light strip, and a refreshed bumper.

2. Kia Carens Facelift To Offer New Features

The interior of the Kia Carens facelift is expected to undergo a significant feature enhancement. A panoramic sunroof is a likely addition, with single-pane options for lower trims. Furthermore, Kia could introduce the “Trinity” panoramic display, similar to the Syros SUV, incorporating a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 5-inch climate control display. Existing features, such as ventilated front seats, are expected to remain, and the potential inclusion of ventilated second-row seats could significantly enhance the Carens' luxury positioning.

Finally, the new Carens facelift could also get ADAS, evidenced by the sensor modules placed on the test mule spotted earlier this year. This addition will put the Carens on par with its Hyundai cousin, the 2025 Alcazar, and enhance its competitive edge against rivals like the Maruti Suzuki XL6. Other safety features, such as a 360-degree camera, 6 airbags, vehicle stability management (VSM), electronic stability control (ESC), hill start assist control, rear parking sensors and camera, downhill brake control, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), are likely to be retained.

3. New Kia Carens – Expected Powertrains Specs

The 2025 Kia Carens is expected to retain its existing powertrain options. These include the following:

  • 1.5-litre normal petrol (115PS, 144Nm) with a 6-speed manual transmission.
  • 1.5-litre turbo petrol (160PS, 253Nm) with 6ACMT and 7DCT transmission options.
  • 1.5-litre diesel (116PS, 250Nm) with 6MT and 6AT transmission options.

4. Kia Carens EV In The Pipeline

Apart from petrol and diesel engine options, Kia will offer the Carens with an all-electric powertrain as well. While the exact launch timeline of the Carens EV is yet to be revealed, various spy shots from the last couple of months suggest it is getting closer to hitting the production line. We expect the Carens EV to borrow several components from the Hyundai Creta EV. Thus, the Carens EV could be offered with a choice of 2 battery packs – 42kWh and 51.4kWh.

The Creta EV equipped with the smaller battery pack produces 135PS of power while the higher variants offer 171PS of power. At 255Nm, the torque remains the same regardless of the battery capacity. The ARAI-claimed range of the Creta EV is 390km for the 42kWh variants and 473km for the 51.4kWh variants. The Carens EV could offer a marginally lower range due to its slightly larger dimensions and extra seating capacity.
