  The Tata Safari comes with a 2.0L turbo diesel engine with 2 transmission options — a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Both the manual and automatic options of the Safari offer a respectable fuel efficiency of 16.14kmpl and 14.08kmpl.

However, the Safari is likely to get a petrol engine option with the facelift. Furthermore, it also lacks 4WD, which its arch rival — the XUV700 — offers.

• Crucial ADAS Features Missing

  While the Safari finally offers ADAS features, it feels like a half-cooked implementation owing to the lack of adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist.
