Honda Cars India launched the third-generation Amaze sedan at an introductory starting price of Rs. 8 lakh on September 4, 2024. The new 2024 Honda Amaze rivals other B2-sedans such as the Hyundai Aura, Tata Tigor and the all-new Maruti Suzuki Dzire.
In this article, we take a look at 10 features the Honda Amaze 2024 offers over the new Dzire.
The top ZX variant of the new Amaze 2024 is offered with a Level-2 advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), which offers features such as collision mitigation, lane keeping assist, auto high beam, road departure mitigation, lead car departure warning and even adaptive cruise control. In comparison, the new 2024 Dzire does not offer ADAS in any of its variants.
The new Amaze sedan offers Honda’s LaneWatch camera that provides a live video feed of the left-side blind spot area on the digital driver’s display. The LaneWatch camera helps identify vehicles that may be in the driver’s blind spot, reducing the risk of accidents when changing lanes. While the Dzire does not get this feature, it offers a 360-degree surround view camera, which comes in handy while parking the vehicle.
While both the new Amaze and Dzire offer safety features such as 6 airbags, 3-point seatbelts for all passengers, seatbelt reminders and more, the Amaze offers a headrest for the rear middle passenger. Apart from offering comfort and support on long journeys, the middle headrest can also prevent whiplash for the middle passenger in the event of a rear-end collision. In comparison, the new Dzire only offers headrests for the front and rear side passengers.
The new Honda Amaze offers a best-in-sement boot space of 416 litres, which is 34 litres more than what Maruti Suzuki offer with the new Dzire 2024. A larger boot allows you to carry more luggage, groceries, or other items, making it ideal for families or those who frequently transport goods.

The new Honda Amaze offers a ground clearance of 172mm, which is 2mm more than its predecessor. The new Dzire, on the other hand, only offers a ground clearance of 163mm. A higher ground clearance offers several advantages, especially in Indian road conditions. It not only enables smoother driving over speed bumps, potholes, and uneven roads but also reduces the risk of underbody damage.
While the Amaze and Dzire are equipped with 1.2L normal petrol engine, the Honda sedan gets a 4-cylinder engine over the Dzire’s 3-cylinder engine. 4-cylinder engines produce fewer vibrations, resulting in better noise, vibrations and harshness (NVH) levels. Additionally, the balanced design of 4-cylinder engines contributes to a more refined ride. They typically offer more power and torque too, making them ideal for spirited driving.
That said, 3-cylinder engines have made significant strides in recent years in terms of NVH levels and efficiency. Although the Dzire’s engine produces less power and torque than the Amaze, it offers better mileage.
The automatic variants of the new Honda Amaze get a CVT with paddle shifters, which is a feature that’s not available in the new Dzire. In a CVT-equipped car, paddle shifters simulate gear shifts by electronically controlling the transmission’s ratio. When you shift up or down using the paddles, the CVT mimics the feeling of shifting gears in a traditional automatic transmission. This provides a more engaging driving experience, especially for those who prefer a more manual feel.
However, it's important to note that the paddle shifters in a CVT don’t actually change gears in the traditional sense. Instead, they adjust the transmission’s ratio to provide a more dynamic driving experience.
While both the Amaze and the Dzire offer LED illumination all around, the Honda sedan offers LED daytime running lamps (DRLs) that also double up as the turn indicators. The Dzire, on the other hand, gets separate DRLs and turn signals.
The Honda Connect connected car technology allows owners of the Amaze to start the engine of their car remotely. This feature is useful for pre-cooling the cabin before driving. The Suzuki Connect feature of the Dzire does not get remote engine start.
Finally, the new Honda Amaze’s also offers smart entry with walk away auto lock, which is a feature missing in the Dzire. The Smart Entry system allows the driver to unlock the vehicle by just touching the door handle, start the car and shut it off at the end of the trip by pressing the power button, and then get out and touch the lock button on the door handle to secure the car—all without ever touching a key. Plus, drivers can open the trunk with just a touch of the release button located just above the license plate—it only requires that they have the key fob with them.
