Volkswagen showcased the ID.4 EV at their recent annual brand conference in Jaipur last week. The Volkswagen ID.4 is expected to launch by the end of 2024 and mark VW’s entry into the lucrative EV segment. Here’s everything you need to know about the 2024 VW ID.4.

Volkswagen ID.4 Design – Exterior And Interior

The ID.4 electric crossover from Volkswagen adopts VW’s latest EV design language with slim LED headlamps, connected LED DRLs and illuminated ‘VW’ logo. The front bumper features aggressive air intakes and angular lines, giving the crossover a sporty design. The front bumper, side skirts and rear bumper feature black cladding like other crossover SUVs that dot our roads these days. Other exterior design highlights include connected LED taillamps and 20-inch alloy wheels.

On the inside, the ID.4 boasts a 5.3-inch digital driver’s display and a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The all-black interior feels premium and it comes equipped with features like a 3-zone climate control system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 12-way power adjustable driver’s seat, and more.

Volkswagen ID.4 Powertrain Specifications

The Volkswagen ID.4 is based on the company’s MEB platform and powered by a 77kWh battery pack and offers a claimed range of 479km per charge. Equipped with a dual-motor configuration, the ID.4 produces 286PS of power and 310Nm of torque. It boasts of a top speed of 180kmph and does the 0-100kmph sprint in 6.3 seconds.  

Expected Price And Launch Details – VW ID.4

The Volkswagen ID.4 is expected to launch in India by the end of 2024. Volkswagen are likely to offer the ID.4 via the CBU route. Hence, we expect it to cost between Rs. 60 lakh to Rs. 65 lakh, which would put it in the same price segment as the Kia EV6. When launched, the VW ID.4 could also rival the Hyunda Ioniq 5 and Volvo XC40 Recharge in the Indian market.
