11 Upcoming Maruti Suzuki Cars In India | V3Cars
Maruti Suzuki have planned a slew of launches for this year. They have already launched the Celerio CNG, WagonR facelift and the new Baleno while 2 car launches are planned for this month alone.
Here, we bring you a list of 11 upcoming Maruti Suzuki cars in India.
1. 2022 Ertiga Facelift
The Ertiga is a 7-seater MPV sold under the Maruti Arena brand. Maruti have commenced bookings for the Ertiga facelift for a token payment of Rs. 11,000. The 2022 Ertiga facelift will get a new grille and bumpers, a new 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and 6 airbags. It will receive a new 1.5L dual-jet normal petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology. Meanwhile, a new 6-speed TC automatic transmission will replace the old 4-speed automatic transmission. The Ertiga facelift is expected to go on sale this month.

2. 2022 XL6 Facelift
The XL6 is a 6-seater version of the Ertiga sold under the more premium Nexa brand. Maruti have opened bookings for the 2022 XL6 facelift for Rs. 11,000. The XL6 facelift will get an updated petrol engine with dual-jet technology and mild-hybrid tech. It will also get a few cosmetic changes, a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 360-degree parking camera setup, ventilated front seats, tyre pressure monitoring system and 6 airbags. Like the Ertiga, the XL6 will also get a new 6-speed TC automatic transmission. The new XL6 is expected to launch on March 21, 2022.

3. Ignis Facelift
The Maruti Nexa Ignis has been losing ground in the segment ever since the arrival of the Tata Punch in the segment. To revive sales of the Ignis, Maruti are expected to give it a mild refresh. The changes could include a new grille, new LED DRLs that are in line with Nexa’s new signature design, a new touchscreen infotainment system and a new 1.2L dual-jet normal petrol engine. The 2022 Ignis will produce more power and deliver more fuel efficiency than the current Ignis. Maruti will also likely provide the option of a CNG powertrain in the Ignis. We expect the Ignis facelift to launch in July 2022.

4. WagonR 1.2L CNG
Maruti recently launched the WagonR facelift in India. It gets 3 powertrain options – a 1.0L normal petrol engine, a 1.2L dual-jet normal petrol engine and a 1.0L CNG. The WagonR will soon get the option of CNG with the 1.2L dual-jet normal petrol engine, which will make significantly more power and torque than the 1.0L CNG variant. The 1.2L dual-jet normal petrol engine makes 78PS of power and 98.5Nm of torque in the Dzire CNG. The WagonR 1.2L CNG is expected to launch in July 2022.

5. Swift CNG
Maruti are expected to soon launch the CNG variants of the Swift to take on the Tata Tiago CNG and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG. It will come with the same powertrain as the Dzire CNG and produce identical power and torque figures. This will make it the most powerful CNG car in its segment. The CNG powertrain is expected to be offered with the VXi and ZXi variants. We expect the Swift CNG to launch in July 2022.

6. Baleno CNG
We recently confirmed that Maruti will launch the Baleno CNG soon. It will get the same 1.2L dual-jet normal petrol engine as the Swift and Dzire. Hence, expect similar power and torque figures as the Dzire CNG, which puts out 78PS of power and 98.5Nm of torque. We expect the Baleno CNG to be offered with the Delta and Zeta variants. Considering that the Baleno is a Nexa car, we can also expect the CNG option in the top-spec Alpha variant. The Baleno CNG is expected to launch in July 2022.

7. 2022 S-Presso Facelift
Maruti will launch the S-Presso facelift in India with dual-jet technology. The S-Presso could get a slightly distinctive styling with a new grille. The main highlight of the facelift, however, will be the new engine. The 2022 S-Presso facelift will use a new 1.0L dual-jet normal petrol engine. It will produce more power than before. Additionally, the new technology will help the S-Presso provide more fuel efficiency. We expect the 2022 S-Presso facelift to go on sale in July 2022.
8. New Gen-Brezza
The Brezza is now nearing the end of its lifecycle and its new generation is almost here. It will sport multiple changes on the outside as well as the inside. New features will include a sunroof, a new touchscreen infotainment system and paddle shifters with automatic transmission. The automatic transmission will be a new 6-speed TC unit. The 1.5L petrol engine will be shared with the new Ertiga and XL6. The car will also drop the Vitara prefix and will be called the Brezza instead. This opens up the possibility of Maruti calling their upcoming compact SUV, developed in conjunction with Toyota, to be called the Vitara. The new Brezza will likely go on sale in August 2022.

9. 2022 Ciaz Facelift
Like all the other Maruti cars using the 1.5L normal petrol engine, the Ciaz too will get a facelift, which will include the new dual-jet engine and the new 6-speed TC automatic transmission. Other changes might include a new grille and updated bumpers. The light will get 3-dot LED treatment to maintain the Nexa family look. New features will include a new 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, paddle shifters and 6 airbags. A head-up display is also expected. The new Ciaz is expected to launch in October 2022.

10. New-gen Alto
Maruti will soon launch the heavily updated Alto in India with a new platform, engine and features. The new-gen Alto is currently in the testing phase. It will use the new Heartect platform and feature a more muscular, tallboy stance. The interior will also be heavily revamped and feature a new touchscreen infotainment system among other features. It will also get a new 1.0L dual-jet normal petrol engine from the S-Presso facelift. The new-gen Alto is expected to go on sale in early 2023.

11. New-gen S-Cross
Suzuki launched the new generation S-Cross in Europe last year. As the present S-Cross does not appeal to many buyers, Maruti might bring the updated S-Cross to India. It sports a heavily updated exterior and interior with Nexa LED treatment for the headlights. It will get the new 1.5L dual-jet normal petrol engine with mild-hybrid tech, which should help produce more power and deliver better fuel efficiency. The new S-Cross will also get the new 6-speed TC automatic transmission. New S-Cross is also expected to pack many new features, including a sunroof and a new touchscreen infotainment system, among others. It is expected to go on sale in India in early 2023.
