Upcoming Honda B2-Segment SUV Spied On Test Again | V3Cars
After the launch of the City facelift earlier this month, Honda are gearing up to reveal their upcoming B2-segment SUV for the Indian market. The upcoming Honda B2-segment SUV, which will rival the likes of the Tata Nexon and Maruti Arena Brezza, will make its global debut in mid-2023.
Honda B2-Segment SUV Exterior Details
The latest spy shots of Honda’s answer to the Brezza and Nexon show an SUV covered in camouflage. However, the images do give us a general overview of the size and shape of the Honda SUV. While Honda are yet to announce the segment in which their new SUV will compete in, the spy shots suggest it could be a B2-segment offering.
Based on the latest spy shots, we expect the Honda SUV to feature slim LED headlights with integrated LED DRLs. The LED headlights flank a large grille with mesh finish, which is likely to get chrome surrounds. The spy images show a flat and wide bonnet, which lend it a butch SUV-like front profile.

The new Honda SUV is likely to offer a long wheelbase with short overhangs. Based on the images, we feel the Honda SUV could offer the longest wheelbase in the segment. Other details on the side profile include multi-spoke alloy wheels, side mirrors with integrated turn indicators and roof rails.
At the rear, the upcoming SUV gets split LED tail lights, which look similar to that of the Honda City. Furthermore, it also gets a shark fin antenna and a rear wiper with washer. We are yet to get a glimpse of the upcoming SUV. But we expect it to pack the mist-have features an Indian car buyer demands from a B2 segment SUV, such as a large touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and automatic climate control, among others.
Honda B2-Segment SUV Powertrain Details
In terms of powertrains, we do not expect the new Honda SUV to get the City’s 1.5L normal petrol engine as that would put it in a higher tax bracket because of its larger engine capacity. Instead, Honda could equip it with a 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine that is offered in the City sedan in various global markets. The turbocharged 1.0L petrol engine produces 122PS of power at 5500rpm and 173Nm of torque between 2000rpm and 4500rpm. Transmission options could include a 6-speed manual and a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Honda B2-Segment SUV India Launch Details
Honda will take the wraps off of the upcoming B2-segment SUV in mid-2023. Its launch could take place near the festive season of 2023. If it sits under the sub-4 metre mark, it will rival the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger.
