2023 Kia Seltos Facelift SUV Spotted

Kia India launched the Seltos SUV back in August 2019 and after a span of more than 3 years, it is due for an update. Kia already offer the Seltos facelift in global markets like South Korea and the updated Seltos is likely to launch in India later this year. The Seltos facelift was spotted on our roads multiple times and the latest spy shots reveal details of the Seltos GT Line variant.

2023 Kia Seltos GT Line Spotted — Design Details

The car spotted on test was the top-spec GT Line variant of the Setlos. While it was wrapped in camouflage, we can make out a few design details. Up front, the Seltos facelift is likely to offer a larger interpretation of Kia’s Tiger Nose grille along with a new design for the LED DRLs. Furthermore, it could also feature a sportier bumper with bigger air intakes and red inserts.

The spy shots also reveal the new design for the alloy wheels. The top-spec GT Line and X Line variants of the Seltos facelift could receive 18-inch alloy wheels. The GT Line will also offer red brake callipers and a red stripe running along the side cladding. At the rear, the Seltos facelift will offer updated LED tail lights with a connected LED light bar in the middle.

2023 Kia Settos Facelift Interior And Features

The upcoming India-bound Seltos facelift could feature a connected, twin-screen setup measuring 10.25-inch like in the Kia EV6. Furthermore, the dashboard could also get a revision with a generous use of soft-touch materials. The space and practicality inside the cabin is unlikely to change. Like the current Seltos, the facelift doesn’t offer a panoramic sunroof in any global markets. However, considering the popularity of panoramic sunroofs among Indian car buyers, Kia may offer it in the top variants of the Seltos facelift.

In terms of features, Kia have added advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Currently, the MG Astor is the only SUV in its class to offer ADAS features and the Seltos is likely to follow suit soon. It is likely to boast ADAS features such as automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, blind spot detection and adaptive cruise control.

2023 Kia Setlos Powertrain Details

Kia recently updated the Seltos’ engine options to meet upcoming BS6 phase-2 emission and road driving emission norms. In the process, the Seltos lost its 1.35L turbo petrol engine (1.4L in Kia’s speak) and it is now only available with the 1.5L normal petrol and 1.5L turbo diesel engine options. While the Seltos facelift is likely to retain the petrol and diesel engine options from the current Seltos, it could also offer the new 1.5L turbo petrol engine, which currently powers the petrol variants of the Kia Carens. The new turbo petrol engine is also offered in cars from Kia’s sister brand Hyundai, such as the 2023 Alcazar and all-new Verna 2023.

2023 Kia Seltos Facelift India Launch Details

The latest spy shots of the Seltos facelift hint towards an imminent launch. Given that the Seltos has already completed over 3 years in the market, the Seltos facelift could go on sale in mid- or late-2023. We expect Kia to launch the Seltos facelift ahead of Diwali 2023 to cash in on the festive season buying spree.
