2025 Toyota Urban Cruiser EV Platform And Powertrain

Like the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, the new Toyota Urban Cruiser EV is built on an all-new skateboard platform called the Heartect-e. The new platform incorporates a lightweight structure and helps offer a spacious interior due to short overhangs. This platform offers high-voltage protection and is designed to maximise battery capacity.

Speaking of batteries, Toyota will offer the Urban Cruiser with 2 battery packs – 49kWh and 61kWh. The smaller battery pack only comes with front-wheel-drive, while the larger battery pack can be had with front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive. 2025 Toyota Urban Cruiser EV Exterior Design And Dimensions

In terms of design, the Toyota Urban Cruiser gets a different front end when compared to the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara it is based on. The Toyota electric SUV gets C-shaped headlamp casing that houses LED projector headlamps and LED DRLs. It also features a faux gloss black grille and vertical air vents.

Around the side, the Urban Cruiser EV features blacked-out A- and B-pillars, while the C-pillar houses the rear door handles. The rear haunches are quite pronounced and the lower black cladding gives the Urban Cruiser a rugged look. The 2WD variants of the Urban Cruiser feature 18-inch alloy wheels while the AWD variant pictured here gets 19-inch alloy wheels with aero inserts.

At the rear, the Urban Cruiser gets connected LED tail lights, a roof spoiler, a shark fin antenna, and a rear fog lamp as well. Check out the dimensions of the upcoming Toyota Urban Cruiser in the table below:

The 2025 Urban Cruiser gets the same interior as the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, albeit with an all-black finish. Hence, the Urban Cruiser gets the same dual integrated screens for infotainment and driver’s display as the e Vitara. The AC vents feature brushed aluminium trim around it and the AC settings are accessed by physical buttons on the dashboard.

Below the AC controls lies a wireless phone charger with USB ports and 2 cupholders. The centre console gets a gloss black finish and houses the rotary drive elector, electronic parking brake, and various other controls, including hill descent control, surround view camera, and more.

Toyota have confirmed the Urban Cruiser will offer ADAS in the European market. We expect the India-spec model to offer the same as well, along with safety features such as 6 airbags, 3-point seatbelts for all passengers, 360-degree surround view system, and more.
