Tata Tiago NRG CNG Teaser Out — Launch Soon | V3Cars

Tata Motors have released a new teaser for the upcoming Tiago NRG CNG ahead of its launch in the coming days. Tata Motors are promoting the Tiago NRG CNG as India’s first ‘toughroader CNG’. The Tiago NRG CNG will offer a raised suspension over the regular Tiago while sharing the same powertrain as the Tiago CNG.

Tata Tiago NRG offers rugged design along with skid plates and body cladding over the regular Tiago. It is now set to get a CNG powertrain that’s shared with the Tiago and Tigor CNG. In the Tiago CNG, the 1.2L normal petrol-CNG engine produces 73PS of power @ 6000rpm and 95Nm of torque @ 3500rpm on CNG mode. When driven on petrol, it produces 86PS of power @ 6000rpm and 113Nm of torque @ 3300rpm. The CNG option only comes with a 5-speed manual transmission whereas the petrol engine also offers the option of a 5-speed automated manual transmission.

In terms of design, the Tiago NRG offers a redesigned front fascia with chrome grille, black elements on the bumper and a chunky skid plate. Around the side, the Tiago NRG offers styled wheels, body cladding and 181mm ground clearance. At the rear, the changes are minimal with a skid plate and NRG badging on boot.

On the inside, the Tiago NRG offers features like touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, reverse parking camera, keyless entry with push-button start/stop, digital instrument cluster, all-black interiors, electrically-adjustable ORVMs and an 8-speaker sound system.

Tata Motors are likely to charge Rs. 90,000 for the CNG option over the corresponding petrol variants of the Tiago NRG. Tata Tiago NRG CNG will rival the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso CNG in the market. Maruti Suzuki S-Presso CNG prices start from Rs. 5.90 lakh and go to Rs. 6.10 lakh ex-showroom.
