2025 Tata Sierra EV To Get This Feature Not Available In Any Tata Car | V3Cars
According to the design patent of the 2025 Tata Sierra EV, it looks like it’ll get a new feature, which we don’t currently get in any other Tata car. The patent image suggests that it’ll get 3 front parking sensors. We hope Tata are this generous with the rear parking sensors as well.
Update (July 1, 2024): Earlier, we had incorrectly mentioned that Tata have confirmed the launch of Sierra for 2026-27. This was a misunderstanding. In their official communication, they have mentioned the tentative launch timeline of Sierra EV as FY 2026, which means financial year ending in 2026. We have updated the article to convey the accurate information.
While Tata have offered 4 parking rear parking sensors in the past even in their affordable cars like the Tiago, lately, they have gotten stingy. Even their flagship SUV, Safari, which costs well over Rs. 30.0 lakh (on-road) gets only 2 front and 2 rear parking sensors.
Meanwhile, more affordable cars like the Sonet offer 4 front parking sensors even in their affordable HTK variant. Although, the Sonet gets only 2 rear parking sensors. On the other hand, Maruti Ignis and more expensive cars in their portfolio offer 4 rear parking sensors as standard.
Tata are the only major Indian carmaker to also have cars in their portfolio without rear parking sensors. In the Tiago and Tigor, you don’t get the rear parking sensors in the variants which get the rear parking camera.
We have previously argued that the Sierra has lost the unique features, which make the Sierra a Sierra. Click the following link to learn more about our opinion on the matter: Confirmed, It’s Not A Sierra , 2025 Tata Sierra EV Design Patent Leaks.
