2025 Tata Sierra Spotted Testing – Closer Look At Design, Features, And Expected Launch | V3Cars
The highly anticipated Tata Sierra was spotted testing for the first time recently, giving us a closer look at the upcoming SUV. Following the concept showcases of both the EV and ICE versions at previous Auto Expos, the ICE version, most recently displayed at the 2025 Expo, appears to be nearing production. The Sierra is expected to launch later this year, with the EV version likely preceding the ICE model.

Tata Sierra 2025 Exterior Design Hints At Retro Inspiration
Heavily camouflaged spy shots reveal a design strikingly similar to the concept, including the LED headlight setup. A visible air dam on the lower bumper suggests this test mule is the ICE version, as the EV variant features a slightly different front fascia with less prominent air intakes. While the test mule sports steel wheels, the production model is expected to offer 19-inch alloys on higher variants. The side profile pays homage to the iconic 90s Sierra, incorporating modern touches like flush door handles. The signature curved rear windows, high-set bonnet, and squared-off wheel arch cladding—all reminiscent of the original Sierra—are expected to make their way to the final production version. A connected LED light bar at the rear is also anticipated.
Tata Sierra 2025 Interior And Features
While interior spy shots are not yet available, the Auto Expo 2025 showcased a concept with a floating triple-screen setup and a 4-spoke steering wheel. The production version is likely to incorporate these elements, along with other expected features such as a wireless phone charger, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, ventilated and powered front seats, and a premium JBL sound system.

Tata Sierra 2025 Safety And Powertrain Specs
The Sierra is expected to feature 6 airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control (ESC), ISOFIX child seat anchorages, and Level-2 ADAS. The ICE version will offer both petrol and diesel engine options. A 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine producing around 170PS and 280Nm of torque is likely. The 1.5-litre diesel engine from the Curvv is also expected to be available. In the Curvv, this diesel engine produces 118PS of power and 260Nm of torque.
Launch And Competition
The Tata Sierra petrol and diesel variants are expected to launch by late 2025, following the EV version. With an expected starting price around Rs. 11 lakh (ex-showroom), it will compete with the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, MG Astor, and Honda Elevate. The Sierra is estimated to be around 4.3 meters long, positioning it above the Curvv and below the Harrier in Tata’s SUV lineup.
