2024 Tata Curvv To Get A Head-Up Display 

Tata Motors plan to launch the upcoming Curvv SUV in the fiercely competitive C-segment, which is currently ruled by the Hyundai Creta. Compared to rivals such as the Creta, Seltos, Grand Vitara, Kushaq and Taigun, the Curvv will offer a coupe-esque design with a sloping roofline. However, the Tata Curvv will need more than a standout design to compete with the likes of the aforementioned SUV. We expect Tata Motors to cram their next SUV with several features and the leaked patent image gives us a clue of what to expect from the Curvv.

The leaked image suggests that the Tata Curvv could get a head-up display. Like the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and the Kia Seltos, the Tata Curvv is likely to get a reflection-based head-up display, where the information is projected onto a glass screen mounted on top of the instrument binnacle. Currently, only the Hyundai Creta, MG Astor, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq and the Volkswagen Taigun do not offer a HUD. Upcoming Tata Curvv Cabin Features

Apart from a HUD, the upcoming Tata Curvv is likely to borrow features such as the 2-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo from the 2023 Nexon. The centre console could feature 2 cup holders and a unique floating element that houses a rotary dial and other controls. In the Curvv EV, the rotary dial could function as the drive selector while in the ICE versions, the dial could function as a toggle for the drive modes. We expect the ICE version of the Curvv to feature the same stubby gear selector as seen in the new Nexon facelift.

While the leaked patent image suggests the Curvv will offer a 5-seater layout, it does not feature a headrest for the middle passenger in the second row, which is a bit disappointing since cars such as the Hyundai Exter from 2 segments below now offer this safety feature. However, the Tata Curvv is likely to offer height-adjustable seatbelts at least in its top variants and could even offer 6 airbags as standard like the new Nexon. The image also suggests the front passenger seat could feature manual adjustment for height, recline and leg room. But apart from these shortcomings, we expect the Curvv to offer features like a panoramic sunroof, electric parking brake, 360-degree parking camera, adaptive cruise control, ventilated front seats and dual-zone climate control. It could even offer ADAS features for a safer driving experience.

Tata Curvv Powertrain Specs

We expect the Tata Curvv EV to launch ahead of the Tata Curvv turbo petrol and diesel. The production-spec Curvv EV is expected to feature the same electric powertrain as the Nexon EV long range. The Nexon EV long range is powered by a 40.5kWh battery pack and it produces 145PS of power, 215Nm of torque and an ARAI-certified range of 465km per charge. However, unlike the Nexon EV, the production-spec Curvv will be based on a new platform, which could enable Tata to offer a range of over 500km per charge.

The Tata Curvv ICE derivatives on the other hand are expected to feature Tata’s new 1.5L turbo petrol engine as well as the 1.5L turbo diesel engine from the Nexon.
