The Tata Altroz Racer and Hyundai i20 N Line produce near identical power and torque outputs. While Tata Motors haven’t revealed the transmission details of the Altroz Racer yet, we expect it to pack a 6-speed manual gearbox over the 5-speed manual found in the standard Altroz turbo petrol. It remains to be seen if Tata offer the Altroz Racer with a dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT).

Tata Altroz Racer Expected Features

The Tata Altroz Racer 2024 is expected to offer several features, including 6 airbags, single-pane sunroof, orange ambient lighting, a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen, and more.

While the standard Altroz is only available with dual front airbags, the Altroz Racer is expected to launch with 6 airbags as standard. The Tata Altroz’s primary rival, the Hyundai i20 N Line offers 6 airbags across its variant lineup and even more affordable hatchbacks like the new Swift 2024 now offer 6 airbags as standard across the range.

Design highlights include a new grille design and slim, black painted covers on the top portion of the headlamps, and 16-inch alloy wheels. It remains to be seen if Tata equip the Altroz Racer with the same alloy wheels as the standard hatchback or with the black 10-spoke alloy wheels that were shown at the Bharat Mobility Expo.

Another major feature difference between the upcoming Tata Altroz Racer and the standard Altroz is the addition of a 360-degree surround view system with cameras mounted on the outward edges of the ORVMs, the front grille and the tailgate.

The Tata Altroz Racer also features a head-up display for the driver that is currently not available in the standard hatchback. Currently, the Maruti Nexa Baleno and its Toyota cousin, the Glanza, are the only hatchbacks in the B2-segment that offer this feature. Hence, we could expect Tata to add the Altroz Racer’s HUD to the top variant of the standard Altroz when its due for an update.
