Skoda To Reveal Next-Gen Superb And Kodiaq Later This Year | V3Cars
At a recent press conference, Skoda revealed the launch timeline for the next-gen Superb sedan and estate and Kodiaq SUV. The carmaker will reveal the new Superb and Kodiaq later this year with extensive changes. Read on to know more details about the upcoming models from Skoda.
Next-Gen Skoda Superb Sedan And Estate Launch Details
Skoda will unveil the fourth-gen Superb sedan and estate later this year and it will come with a range of petrol, diesel and plug-in-hybrid powertrain options. While the carmaker is yet to reveal the details of both the models, it teased the audience by giving a sneak peek into the design of the Superb sedan and estate with a silhouette image. The silhouette reveals a traditional 3-box design for the Superb sedan with futuristic LED lighting for the front and rear profiles.

The Superb Combi (estate), on the other hand, comes with a flat roof and an elongated rear overhang to improve itsluggage carrying capacity. The Skoda Superb sedan and estate will get Skoda’s revised range of petrol and diesel engine options that are more efficient than before. Currently, Skoda offer the 3rd-gen Superb in the Indian market with a 2.0L turbo petrol engine. There is no clarity as to when Skoda will bring the new Superb sedan to our shores.
Next-Gen Skoda Kodiaq Launch Details
Along with the Superb, Skoda will also update their most-successful SUV with a new-gen model. The Kodiaq will continue to offer a 3-row seating layout. While it’s yet to be confirmed, the teaser image of the new Kodiaq hints towards it having a set of connected headlights and tail lights. The Kodiaq is likely to share its powertrains with the Superb sedan and estate, including the plug-in-hybrid powertrain. We expect Skoda to reveal all the details of 3 models closer to their market launch later this year.

Currently, Skoda India offer the Kodiaq SUV with a 2.0L turbo petrol engine. The Kodiaq is currently the only Skoda to offer a 4-wheel-drive powertrain to suit its SUV credentials. The new Kodiaq will continue to go up against the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian and MG Gloster.
