Maruti Suzuki To Launch Next-Gen Vitara SUV In October 2022 | V3Cars
Maruti Suzuki will launch the new generation Vitara SUV in India in October 2022. The new SUV is likely to go on sale in the Indian market before replacing the global model later on. The new-gen Vitara SUV will share its powertrain and underpinnings with the Toyota Hyryder hybrid SUV.
Toyota Will Manufacture Suzuki Vitara In India
Under the alliance between Toyota and Suzuki, Toyota Bharat will manufacture the new Vitara SUV at their plant in Bidadi, Karnataka. The upcoming Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder SUV will share a lot in common with the new Vitara SUV. Unlike the Vitara Brezza, the new Vitara SUV will go on sale globally as well and replace the current-gen Vitara in the European market.

On the features front, we expect the new Vitara SUV to offer the following features:
- Floating touchscreen infotainment
- Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
- Wireless charging

As the Suzuki Vitara will also go on sale in global markets, we can also expect it to offer 4-wheel-drive. While we are yet to know whether the mild-hybrid or the strong-hybrid engine will get the 4-wheel-drive option, we place our bets on the latter. Speaking of the powertrain, the new Vitara is likely to get a mid-hybrid drivetrain and a strong hybrid drivetrain. The latter will also likely offer a battery-only driving range along with the class-leading fuel efficiency.
