2022 Maruti Vitara Brezza With Sunroof Spied | V3Cars

The new generation of Maruti Brezza is speculated to launch in 2022. The new spy shots reveal major design and feature changes for Maruti’s SUV. The images leaked were of the top model as it had some high-end features.

The notable updates include:

  • Sunroof

  • New grille

  • New front bumper

  • Changed fog lamp housing

  • Faux silver skid plate

  • Slimmer LED projector headlamps with integrated DRLs

  • Redesigned alloy wheels

  • Slimmer LED tail lights

  • New rear bumper

  • Big ‘BREZZA’ lettering on the tailgate

The SUV seems to have dropped ‘Vitara’  from its name as the rear just mentions ‘Brezza’ and not ‘Vitara Brezza’ as the current model does. Maruti might have done this to reserve the ‘Vitara’ nameplate for a C-segment SUV which they are working on with Toyota. This SUV could revive the ‘Grand Vitara’ name.

Other changes on the inside include:

  • New dashboard layout

  • Dual-tone interior

  • New multi-function steering wheel

  • New AC vents

  • New, bigger floating touchscreen infotainment system

  • Paddle shifters behind the steering wheel

  • New instrument cluster with analogue circular dials

Currently, Brezza is equipped with features like LED projector headlights, Auto AC, cruise control, keyless entry with push-button start/stop, cooled glove box etc. Sunroof will be a key feature highlight in the Brezza as most of the SUVs in the segment have this feature and it is also a deciding factor for many customers.

The Brezza could retain the 1.5-litre petrol engine, which produces 105PS of power and 138Nm of torque. It currently comes with a 5-speed manual and 4-speed torque converter. The new Brezza could get a 6-speed automatic transmission for better efficiency. The new Brezza could also offer the better mild-hybrid tech with the manual transmission further improving its mileage. Currently, it’s only available with Brezza petrol-automatic.

The current Vitara Brezza is based on the Global-C platform. The new generation could either retain this platform or shift to the new Heartect platform. The Brezza had scored a 4-star Global NCAP crash test rating.

The prices of the Brezza may also increase marginally given the features added. The current Brezza is priced at Rs. 7.62 lakh to Rs. 11.11 lakh. The Brezza rivals with Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Honda WR-V and Toyota Urban Cruiser, which is rebadged Brezza.
