Maruti Suzuki S-Cross Delisted From Nexa Website — Officially Discontinued | V3Cars
Maruti Suzuki have officially discontinued the S-Cross crossover. The Maruti S-Cross is no longer listed on the Nexa website. Maruti Suzuki produced zero units of the S-Cross in the last 3 months. The new Grand Vitara is currently the flagship offering from the carmaker.
Back in 2015, Maruti Suzuki launched its Nexa premium customer service concept with the S-Cross crossover. Today, the Nexa range includes models like the Ignis, Baleno, Ciaz, XL6 and the recently-launched Grand Vitara. Sadly, the S-Cross fell out of flavour a few years after it was launched and its sales fell ever since.

When launched, Maruti offered the S-Cross with a choice of 2 diesel engines, both of which were sourced from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. The 1.3L turbo diesel engine (DDIS 200) was so common in several cars that it earned the nickname “the national engine of India”. The other option was a powerful 1.6-litre turbo diesel that was badged the DDIS 320. However, the latter found little to no success owing to its exorbitant price tag and was soon discontinued.

Following the discontinuation of the DDIS 320, Maruti Suzuki pulled the plug on the S-Cross DDIS 200 after launching a minor facelift. After a brief pause, Maruti Suzuki relaunched the S-Cross with a BS6-complaint 1.5L normal petrol engine. But it was probably too late for the crossover as the new Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta gathered all the eyeballs.
However, Maruti now have a potential winner in their hands in the form of the new Grand Vitara, which is offered with efficient mild-hybrid and strong hybrid petrol engines. The Grand Vitara boasts of a robust design and strong road presence. Like every other Maruti Suzuki, the Grand Vitara offers class leading fuel efficiency, which is backed by Maruti’s impeccable sales and service network. Maruti Suzuki have also crammed the Grand Vitara with a ton of features to take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq.
