In this March 2023 cars sales analysis article, we’ll look at the bodystyle-wise sales figures along with the YoY and MoM change for each carmaker in India. Body-Wise March 2023 Car Sales - YoY Change

SUVs witnessed the biggest YoY growth of 20.35% in March 2023 compared to March 2022
The SUV was the best-selling bodystyle in India. It was closely followed by hatchbacks, which saw a 8.64% decline in sales in March 2023 compared to March 2022
MPVs saw a 5.72% growth in sales in March YoY comparison analysis
Sedans also saw a 4.33% decline in sales in March

Body-Wise March 2023 Car Sales - MoM Change

Hatchbacks were the top loser by reporting a 16% decline in MoM comparison to February sales figures
Hatchbacks were followed by sedans with a 3.15% drop in dispatches in March compared to February
Pickups are not a popular body-style among Indian buyers and it is evident from the numbers, although they saw substantial growth in MoM and YoY comparisons for March.
Among the winners, MPVs were the top gaining bodystyle with over 40,000 units sold in March, compared to almost 35,000 in February, witnessing a rise of just over 18% in monthly sales
SUVs reported a growth of 11.25% in MoM sales comparison
