Mahindra Continue To Test XUV300 Facelift Ahead Of Launch | V3Cars

Mahindra are readying a long overdue update for their XUV300 B2-segment SUV. The XUV300 is one of the oldest B2-segment SUVs in the market and it hasn’t received any major update since its launch in February, 2019. The Mahindra XUV300 facelift was spotted testing once again ahead of its launch and here’s what the latest spy shots reveal.

Mahindra XUV300 Facelift Exterior Changes

While the test mule of the XUV300 facelift was covered in heavy camouflage, we expect the production-spec version of the SUV to share design similarities with Mahindra’s upcoming all-electric SUVs like the XUV.e8. The XUV300 facelift could feature a C-shaped LED DRL design with integrated headlights, unlike the latest crop of SUVs that feature a split headlight design. We also expect the XUV300 facelift to pack a larger front grille and redesigned bumpers.

Around the side, the XUV300 is likely to continue with its sub-4m bodystyle with a severely chopped off rear end. The updated SUV is likely to feature redesigned tail lights and reduced clutter on the tailgate by moving the registration plate to the rear bumper.

Mahindra XUV300 Facelift Interior Changes

We are yet to get a glimpse of the XUV300’s interior changes. That said, we expect Mahindra to overhaul the cabin of the XUV300 facelift and add a lot more features and tech as the latter is the weakest link of the current XUV300. We expect the carmaker to add a larger touchscreen infotainment system and a digital driver’s display in a single slab of glass like in the Mahindra XUV700. It could also offer other new features like front ventilated seats, wireless phone charger, 360-degree parking camera and dual-zone climate control.

Mahindra XUV300 Facelift Powertrain Details

In terms of powertrains, we expect the XUV300 to retain the same set of engine options as the current SUV. The current model gets a 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine that produces 130PS of power at 5000rpm and 230Nm of torque between 1500rpm and 3750rpm. The 1.5L diesel engine option produces 117PS of power at 3750rpm and 300Nm of torque between 1500rpm and 2500rpm. We do not expect the updated SUV to come with the less-powerful version of 1.2L turbo petrol engine that’s currently on offer.
