Mahindra Thar 2WD Expected Prices

Since the Thar 2WD gets the same 2.0L turbo petrol engine as the 4WD variants, it will remain in the same tax bracket as the latter. However, the absence of a 4-wheel drivetrain will make the 2WD variant a lot more affordable. Meanwhile, the the Thar turbo diesel 2WD variant is likely to cost under Rs. 10.0 lakh (ex-showroom) since its engine fits under 1500cc. This could make it a potential rival to the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-Door.
