Mahindra Scorpio Classic S5 Mid Variant Reaches Dealerships — Launch Soon | V3Cars
Mahindra are set to fill the gap between the top-spec Scorpio Classic S11 and base S variant soon. Mahindra have started dispatches of the Scorpio Classic S5 mid variant and it is set to go on sale soon. Read on to know more details about the Scorpio Classic and the new mid variant of one of India’s favourite SUVs.
Mahindra Scorpio Classic S5 — Exterior Details
On the outside, the Scorpio Classic S5 variant offers body coloured front and rear bumpers, body-coloured plastic cladding, roof rails and side steps. Another big change over the base S variant is the presence of 17-inch alloy wheels, which are similar to the ones on the S11 variant. However, it lacks a few features like projector headlights, fog lights, body-coloured side mirrors and door handles.

Mahindra Scorpio Classic S5 — Interior And Features
On the inside, the Scorpio Classic S5 doesn’t offer any major feature changes over the base S variant. It misses features like an infotainment system, electrically-adjustable ORVMs, steering-mounted controls and automatic climate control. A few notable features of the Scorpio Classic S5 are side-facing 3rd row seats, manual air conditioning, rear AC vents and a two-pot instrument cluster with a multi info display (MID).

Mahindra Scorpio Classic S5 — Powertrain Details
The Mahindra Scorpio Classic S5 will carry the same 2.2L turbo diesel engine as the S and S11 variants. The 2.2L turbo diesel engine produces 132PS of power at 3750rpm and 300Nm of torque between 1600rpm and 2800rpm. The S and S11 variants are offered with a 6-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drivetrain. The diesel engine complies with the latest BS6 phase-2 emission norms and road driving emission (RDE) standards.
Mahindra Scorpio Classic S5 — Launch Details
Since the S5 variant of the Scorpio Classic has started reaching dealerships, we expect Mahindra to announce its prices soon. Currently, the Scorpio Classic comes in 2 variants — S at Rs. 13 lakh and S11 at Rs. 16.81 lakh (ex-showroom).
