Citroen C3 Automatic Revealed – Price Yet To Be Announced | V3Cars

Soon after the launch of the 2024 Basalt and the updated C3 Aircross, Citroen India have introduced a new automatic variant of the C3 small SUV. However, the brand is yet to reveal the price of the C3 automatic. In this article, we take a look at the powertrain specifications and updated features of the Citroen C3.

Citroen C3 Shine Turbo Automatic Revealed

Until recently, the Citroen C3, which competes with the Tata Punch, Hyundai Exter and Maruti Ignis, was the only offering in its segment to not offer the option of an automatic transmission. However, that has changed now thanks to the introduction of a 6-speed torque converter, which is unique as all of its rivals mentioned above only offer 5-speed AMTs (automated manual transmission).

The new turbo petrol-automatic powertrain for the Citroen C3 is only available in the top Shine variant of the small SUV. While Maruti, Hyundai and Tata charge a premium ranging between Rs. 45,000 and Rs. 65,000 for the automatic variants, we expect the C3 automatic to cost substantially more than its top manual variant as torque converters cost more than AMTs. Citroen currently charge a premium of Rs. 1.30 lakh and 1.40 lakh for the automatic variants of the C3 Aircross and newly launched Basalt coupe SUV. So expect a price difference of at least 1.20 lakh between the C3 Shine turbo petrol manual and automatic variant.

Citroen C3 Automatic – Powertrain Specs

The Citroen C3 is available with a 1.2L normal petrol and a 1.2L turbo petrol. However, the C3 automatic only gets the turbo petrol engine. It produces 110PS of power and 205Nm of torque with the automatic transmission. In comparison, the C3 turbo petrol manual produces the same power but less torque, at 190Nm.

2024 Citroen C3 Features Updated

Along with the introduction of the new automatic variant, Citroen have also updated the feature list of the 2024 C3. The list now includes new features such as:

LED projector headlamps
Power adjustable and folding ORVMs
ORVM covers with integrated turn indicators
Rear windshield wiper and washer
ISOFIX child seat mounts
14-inch alloy wheels
Automatic climate control
Hill hold assist (AT only)
