Mahindra Bolero Now Gets Dual Airbags As Standard | V3Cars

Mahindra have updated the Bolero to comply with the government’s latest safety norms by giving it dual front airbags as standard. Earlier, the Bolero only had a driver airbag as part of its standard equipment list. The addition of a front passenger airbag has resulted in a price hike of Rs. 14,000 to Rs. 16,000, depending on the variant. The prices of the MY2022 Mahindra Bolero now start at Rs. 8.85 lakh.

The government’s rule which mandates all passenger cars to be equipped with at least 2 airbags came into effect in January 2022. Before this, cars from the budget segment, such as the Maruti Alto, Renault Kwid and Maruti S-Presso only offered 1 airbag as standard along with the Bolero, which costs a lot more than the aforementioned cars.

Apart from the dual front airbags, the Bolero also gets safety features such as ABS, rear parking sensors, seatbelt reminder, rear defogger, and speed alert system.

Mahindra offer the Bolero in 3 variants – B4, B6 and B6(O). A 1.5L turbocharged diesel engine powers the Bolero. It produces 76PS of power at 3600rpm and 210Nm of torque between 1600rpm and 2200rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The Mahindra Bolero has no direct rivals apart from its stablemate, the Bolero Neo.
