Tata Curvv Coupe EV, Petrol And Diesel To Debut On August 7 | V3Cars

Tata Motors have sent V3Cars a ‘block your date’ invite for the Curvv SUV coupe for August 7. While it is unclear if Tata Motors intend to launch the Curvv EV, petrol and diesel variants and reveal their prices on this date, we are confident Tata will reveal the features, powertrain specification, and other details of the upcoming coupe SUV. Here’s what we know about the 2024 Tata Curvv ahead of the August 7 event.

2024 Tata Curvv And Curvv EV

Tata Curvv Coupe Exterior And Interior Design

In the first official teaser for the 2024 Curvv EV, petrol and diesel variants released earlier this month, Tata Motors teased design elements such as the connected LED taillamps, sloping roofline, and a shark-fin antenna, among other details.

Tata Motors showcased a near-production version of the Curvv ICE at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Expo and we expect most of the design to carry forward to the production-spec SUV. Like in the Nexon EV and Nexon ICE, the Curvv EV is likely to distinguish itself from the Curvv petrol and diesel with a connected LED DRL upfront and an enclosed grille.

Tata Curvv EV Expected Features

Various spy shots of the Tata Curvv ICE and EV have revealed some of the features of the upcoming coupe SUV. Unlike the Punch EV and Nexon EV, which gets a 2-spoke steering wheel, the Curvv EV is expected to launh with a 4-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo borrowed from the larger Harrier and Safari SUVs. Meanwhile, the Curvv EV is expected to share a similar dashboard layout as the Nexon EV. We expect Tata to offer the Curvv with twin 12.3-inch screens for the driver’s display and infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Tata Curvv EV is also expected to get ADAS with features like lane-keeping assist, collision avoidance assist, and blind spot detection system. We could also expect premium features like a wireless charger, electronic sunroof, as well as powered and ventilated front seats.

The Tata Curvv will also offer a feature that’s a first for Tata Motors – flush-fitting door handles. The pre-production version of the Curvv showcased at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Expo offered us our first glimpse of this feature, which we’ve seen in SUVs from a segment above, like the Mahindra XUV700. In terms of safety, expect the Curvv EV to offer 6 airbags as standard, while the mid and higher variants could get a 360-degree surround view monitor.

2024 Tata Curvv Powertrain Options

Like the Nexon, the Tata Curvv will get multiple powertrain options, including petrol, diesel and electric. Tata Motors plan to offer the Curvv ICE with the same engine options as the Nexon. So expect the coupe SUV to launch with the 1.5-litre diesel and 1.2-litre turbo petrol. We expect the Tata Curvv ICE to be offered with multiple transmission options, including a 6-speed manual, automated manual transmission (AMT), and a dual-clutch transmission (DCT).

Tata Motors are yet to reveal the powertrain specifications of the Curvv EV. However, we expect it to offer a larger battery pack than the Nexon EV, which is shipped with a 40.5kWh battery pack. Since the Curvv EV is set to take over the Nexon EV’s spot as Tata’s flagship electric vehicle, we expect it to offer a range of around 500km over the Nexon EV long range variants’ 465km per charge. When launched, the Tata Curvv EV will rival the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV as well as the all-electric iteration of the upcoming Citroen Basalt EV.
