2024 MG Astor Launched – Prices Reduced | V3Cars

The 2024 MG Astor SUV was launched recently at a starting ex-showroom price of Rs. 9.98 lakh. The new Astor prices are lower than before and the C-segment SUV is available in 8 variants. Read on to know more.

2024 MG Astor Prices Dropped

The MG Astor has received a few updates for 2024 and in the process, MG India have dropped the prices of the C-segment SUV. The Astor base variant with the normal petrol engine is now priced at Rs. 9.98 lakh while the top-spec Savvy Pro turbo petrol variant is priced at Rs. 17.90 lakh. These prices are Rs. 84,000 and Rs. 79,000 lower than the older base and top variant prices, respectively. The Sprint is the new base variant of the Astor. It is only available with the 1.5-litre normal petrol engine with a 5-speed manual transmission. With the addition of the Astor Sprint variant, it now not only ducks under the Rs. 10.0 lakh barrier but also undercuts all other C-segment SUVs it competes against.

The 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine is now offered in only one variant – Savvy Pro – down from 3 variants earlier. Like before, it can only be had with a 6-speed torque converter automatic. It’s also worth noting that the top-spec Savvy Pro is not available with a manual transmission.

MG Astor 2024 Feature Upgrades

Apart from lowering prices, MG have also added new features to its C-segment SUV to take on the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and others. New features include:

Ventilated seats (Savvy Pro)
Auto-dimming IRVM (Savvy Pro)
Wireless Charger (Select onwards)
Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay (Select onwards)
Panoramic sunroof (Select onwards)
i-Smart 2.0 connected car technology (Select onwards)

2024 MG Astor Powertrain Options

MG India continue to offer the Astor with 2 engines and 3 transmission options. The 1.5-litre normal petrol engine puts out 110PS of power and 144Nm of torque and is available with either a 5-speed manual or an 8-speed CVT automatic transmission. The 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine produces 140PS of power and 220Nm of torque and only comes with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

The MG Astor’s rivals include the Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Volkswagen Taiun, Skoda Kushaq and the upcoming Hyundai Creta facelift.
