New Mahindra XUV 3XO Fuel Efficiency Revealed – Interiors Teased | V3Cars

Mahindra have released yet another teaser for the upcoming XUV 3XO (XUV300 facelift) SUV. The new teaser reveals the claimed fuel efficiency of the 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO. While Mahindra are expected to retain the current engine options of the XUV300, the new teaser suggests a slight improvement in the XUV3XO diesel-automatic variants’ mileage. It also gives us our first clear glimpse of the cabin of the updated B2-segment SUV.

2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO Diesel Automatic Mileage Improves

The latest teaser for the XUV 3XO showcases the cabin of an automatic variant. It also gives us a glimpse of the all-digital driver’s display which shows a fuel efficiency figure of 20.1kmpl and a redline of 4500rpm, suggesting it’s equipped with the 1.5-litre diesel engine. A disclaimer at the bottom of the video reads the mileage shown on screen is the ARAI-claimed fuel efficiency figure for the XUV3XO.

Now, let’s compare this figure to the current XUV300. In the current model, the XUV300 diesel with the 6-speed manual transmission offers 20.1kmpl while the diesel-AMT variants return 19.70kmpl. This leads us to believe the XUV3XO diesel automatic will offer better fuel efficiency than the outgoing XUV300.

Additionally, Mahindra have updated the gear lever of the XUV300 diesel-AMT. The new gear lever comes with satin silver and piano black finish and looks more premium than the AMT gear lever in the current model.

Among B2-segment SUVs that offer a diesel engine option, the Nexon offers 2 transmission options – a 6-speed manual and 6-speed AMT.  The Hyundai Venue only comes with a 6-speed manual transmission while the Kia Sonet offers 3 transmissions, including a 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

Apart from the 1.5-litre diesel engine with 6-speed manual and AMT, we expect Mahindra to offer the new XUV 3XO with 2 petrol engine options as well. The XUV300 is currently powered by 2 petrol engine options. Both engines offer the same displacement but one is more powerful than the other.

The 1.2L turbo petrol with lower output puts out 110PS of power and 200Nm of torque and comes with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed AMT. It offers a claimed fuel efficiency of 16.82kmpl with the manual transmission and 17.0kmpl with the AMT. The 1.2L turbo petrol with the higher power output is only available with a 6-speed manual. Mahindra haven’t revealed the ARAI-claimed fuel efficiency figure for this engine yet.

2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO Interior And Features

The new Mahindra XUV 3XO borrows the dashboard and some features from the XUV400 electric SUV, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, AdrenoX connected car technology, cruise control, dual-zone climate control, rear AC vents, and USB Type-C outlets.

Additionally, it also offers segment-first features like a panoramic sunroof. Currently, B2-segment SUVs like the 2024 Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet facelift and Hyundai Venue offer a single-pane sunroof in their higher variants while the Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger do not offer this much sought-after feature. Mahindra are aiming to trump the Nexon, which is one of the most feature rich cars in the segment, with a panoramic sunroof. We expect Mahindra to offer this feature in the top variant only.

Mahindra’s previous teasers for the 3XO also confirmed another new feature – a 7-speaker audio system by Harman Kardon. The 7-speaker audio system is likely to comprise 4 speakers, 2 tweeters and a subwoofer. In comparison, the 2024 Nexon’s Fearless variant offers an 8-speaker audio system that comprises 4 speakers and 4 tweeters.

The Hyundai Venue, Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite offer a 6-speaker setup with 4 speakers and 2 tweeters, while the Kia Sonet offers a 7-speaker Bose sound system.
