Mahindra are gearing up to reveal the production-spec version of the XUV.e9 and BE.05 electric SUVs at the Unlimit India World Premiere in Chennai on November 26. Mahindra have revealed the production-spec versions of the upcoming SUVs will be called the XEV 9e and BE 6e. Both SUVs are based on Mahindra’s born electric INGLO EV platform and will be launched under the new sub-brands – XEV and BE (pronounced be). Here’s everything we know so far about the upcoming Mahindra electric SUVs.

2024 Mahindra XEV e9, BE 6e Electric SUVs

2024 Mahindra XEV 9e – Expected Specs, Features And Rivals

The upcoming Mahindra XEV 9e is essentially the production-spec version of the XUV.e9 concept SUV. The XEV 9e will feature a coupe-SUV design and it is expected to retain the concept SUVs design highlights such as connected light bars at the front and rear and a glass roof. On the inside, we expect Mahindra to offer the XEV 9e with 3 screens, including one for the front passenger. The XEV 9e is likely to borrow features like ADAS, ventilated front seats, height-adjustable driver’s seat, cruise control, and more from the XUV700.

Mahindra are yet to reveal the powertrain specifications of the XEV 9e. However, we expect it to offer over 400km of driving range on a full charge. When launched, the 2024 XEV 9e will have no direct rivals in the market, at least until the launch of the Tata Harrier EV. Considering the XEV 9e will target the luxury car market, we expect Mahindra to price it from Rs. 30 lakh to Rs. 40 lakh (ex-showroom).

2024 Mahindra BE 6e – Expected Specs, Features And Rivals

Based on the Mahindra BE.05 concept SUV, the production-spec BE 6e is expected to feature aggressive styling with a steeply raked rear end. Based on the previous spy shots, we expect Mahindra to retain most of the design highlights of the concept SUV into the production-ready BE 6e. The BE 6e is expected to feature the same electric motor and battery pack as the larger XEV 9e.

On the inside, prospective customers of the BE 6e can expect to find a dual-screen setup with a wraparound element between the driver’s door and the centre console. Other highlights include a 2-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated ‘BE’ logo, aircraft-style drive selector, and a rotary dial for drive modes.

When launched, the Mahindra BE 6e will not only rival the Tata Curvv EV but also take on the upcoming Maruti Suzuki eVX and the Hyundai Creta EV. We expect the BE 6e to cost between Rs. 18 lakh to Rs. 22 lakh (ex-showroom).
