MG Comet EV Launch Date

MG Motor India will reveal the specifications and prices of the Comet EV to the public on April 26, 2023. The carmaker is also likely to open bookings for the Comet EV on the launch day itself. MG also plan to offer the Comet EV with several customisation packs with different exterior colours and decals.

MG Comet EV Exterior Details And Dimensions

The Comet EV offers a 2-door bodystyle and seating space for up to 4 passengers, including the driver. At the front, it gets a connecting LED light bar whereas the main headlights sit lower on the bumper. It gets LED headlights, LED turn indicators and LED tail lights — giving it a modern appeal. Around the side, the Comet EV gets large doors for easy ingress and egress for and 12-inch wheels with wheel covers.

MG Comet EV Interior And Features

On the inside, the Comet EV offers a connected screen layout with each screen measuring 10.25-inch in size. The 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system of the Comet EV offers wireless connectivity for both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Furthermore, it offers features like drive modes, multi-level regenerative braking, power-adjustable side mirrors, 2-spoke steering wheel with controls, dual front airbags, reverse parking camera with sensors and tyre pressure monitoring system. Despite being a small 2-door vehicle, the Comet EV also offers a couple of smart storage spaces on the inside.

MG Comet EV Powertrain Details

The Comet EV comes with a 17.3kWh battery pack that powers a rear-mounted electric motor. The electric motor produces 42PS of power and 110Nm of torque. The Comet EV offers a claimed range of 230km on a single charge. In terms of charging, the Comet EV can juice up its batteries from 0-100% in 7 hours via a 3.3kW AC charger. MG do not offer any fast charging support with the Comet EV. 

MG Comet EV Expected Price And Rivals

MG Motor India could price the Comet EV between Rs. 7.00 lakh to Rs. 8.00 lakh ex-showroom. The new Comet EV is likely to undercut other affordable electric vehicles in the market, such as the Tata Tiago EV, Tata Tigor EV and Citroen eC3.
