Here are 5 things you need to know about the upcoming 2022 MG ZS EV:

2022 MG ZS EV - Exterior Design

MG ZS EV is an electric SUV, which shares its platform with the MG Astor. The design of the new ZS EV will align with that of the Astor. It will offer new sleeker LED headlights, flanking a new grille. The centre-mounted charging port will now slide to the left. On the lower bumper, we could get sensors for the Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The side profile could get aero-efficient alloy wheels whereas the rear profile could gain full LED tail lights.

New Interior Design For 2022 MG ZS EV Facelift

The new ZS EV are also likely to get an update with design elements similar to that of the ZS. However, to maintain a premium feel, MG may use higher quality materials for the touch points. Front and center, we can expect to see a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The Astor also gets a virtual AI Assistant with a cute interactive mini bot on the dash. We’re not sure if MG will bring this mini bot to the ZS or not.

New And Improved Features Of 2022 MG ZS EV

The current ZS EV already has a fairly long list of features to brag about. The 2022 ZS will build upon it as it borrows some more from the Astor. We expect it to add a full-colour LCD instrument cluster, wireless phone charging, 360-degree camera and auto AC. We expect the MG to also offer ADAS suite with the 2022 ZS, which will bring along auto emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, front collision warning, rear cross traffic alert, blind spot monitoring and a couple other features.

New ZS EV Longer Range

2022 ZS EV facelift is likely to get a bigger 51.1kWh battery pack, which replaces the older 44.5kWh unit. It offers a WLTP-certified range of 318km. It is worth noting that ARAI-certified range should be considerably higher than what WLTP test cycle delivers. The current ZS EV offers an ARAI-claimed range of 419 km. MG Motor India should reveal more details regarding the power outputs and charging closer to the launch. We may see a figure higher than 500km for the new MG ZS facelift.

Price And Rivals

MG ZS EV, with its new set of features and a bigger battery, rest assured that it will cost more than the current model. We expect the 2022 MG ZS EV to cost in the range of Rs. 23 - 28 Lakh (ex-showroom). MG ZS EV will compete with the Hyundai Kona EV facelift, which we expect to go on sale sometime later in 2022.
