2022 Maruti Suzuki Alto Makes First Appearance Ahead Of Launch | V3Cars

The 2022 Alto will be bigger than the model it replaces. We can see increased width and height in the images, with a curvier design approach. At the fenders, we can see clear lens turn indicators whereas the top variants of the Alto could also feature body-coloured ORVMs. Like the new Celerio, the new Alto will also get flap-type body-coloured door handles.

The similarities between the Celerio and Alto continue at the rear as well. The new Alto gets a curvier rear design with round tail lights. It however misses out on a rear wiper and washer to save cost. It is worth noting that the new Alto could feature bigger 13-inch wheels whereas the current-gen Alto comes with 12-inch wheels.

We can expect the 2022 Alto to offer a modern dashboard layout along with a few modern touches. The top variants could feature a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, all 4 power windows, reverse parking camera and keyless entry.

On the powertrain front, we expect the new Alto to come with a 0.8-litre normal petrol engine. In the current Alto, this engine produces 47.9PS of power and 69Nm of torque at 3500rpm. It comes with a 5-speed manual transmission and Maruiti Suzuki also offer a CNG option with the Alto. In addition to that, Maruti Suzuki could also offer the 1.0L normal petrol engine with the new Alto.

Maruti Suzuki is expected to launch the new Alto before October 2022. It is worth noting that post October 2022, all newly launched cars are required to offer 6 airbags as standard. Hence, we strongly believe that Maruti Suzuki will launch the new Alto before this deadline.
