The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno has been spied undisguised ahead of its launch. The spy shots showcase the lower variants of the Baleno, revealing some key details about the premium hatchback. The 2022 Baleno gets a redesigned front profile with a larger grille, swept-back LED headlights, and redesigned bumpers.

Despite the cars in the spy shot having steel wheels, we get to see projector headlamps on the 2022 Baleno. The front grille gets a chrome border and larger inlets for the engine. The lower bumper gets black inserts, surrounding the fog lamp housing. In addition to that, the bonnet of the 2022 Baleno seems to taper more than the current model, along with sharp creases at either end.

The side profile of the 2022 Baleno remains the same as before. The flowing design below the windowline and flared wheel arches are carried over from the current model. At the rear, the new Baleno gets split LED tail lights. The lower variants lack the chrome garnish on the boot and tail lights. In addition to that, the reflectors have moved up on the bumper, to be more in sight.

The 2022 Baleno will get Maruti’s Dualjet petrol engine. The 1.2L normal petrol engine produces 90PS of power and 113Nm of torque in the outgoing model. Expect Maruti to offer it with the option of a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT. The latter should allow Maruti to price the Baleno’s automatic variants more competitively than before. Maruti Suzuki offer the same engine-gearbox combo in the Swift and Dzire as well. With the new changes and added features, we expect Maruti Suzuki to hike the prices of the new Baleno by Rs. 50,000. Maruti Suzuki will launch the 2022 Baleno on February 23.
