Citroen Aircross Pros & Cons

Check out pros and cons about the Citroen Aircross that are worth highlighting for a potential buyer. Here are some of the highlights of the benefits of buying the Citroen Aircross. We'll also list out the Aircross drawbacks to help you make an informed buying decision.

Aircross Advantanges
  • Only C-Segment SUV With 3-Row Seating

The Citroen C3 Aircross is currently the only SUV in its segment to offer 3-row seating. It comes with third row seats that can be removed when not in use to liberate a segment-best boot space of 511 litres.

  • Reasonable Sub-Rs. 10 Lakh Starting Price

Citroen surprised the Indian audience with a sub-10 lakh starting price, making it the only C-SUV to come under 10 lakh ex-showroom. Citroen are yet to share the full price list of the C3 Aircross SUV.

  • Healthy Ground Clearance Of 200mm

The Citroen C3 Aircross offers a 200mm ground clearance, which is considerably better than the best-sellers like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, which offer 190mm ground clearance.

  • Great Ride Comfort

Ride quality has been a hallmark of Citroen offerings globally and that stands true with the C3 Aircross as well. It comes with Citroen’s famed advanced comfort active suspension, which offers a cushy ride without taking a toll on the dynamics.

  • Punchy Turbo Petrol With Lower Tax Impositions

The 1.2L turbo petrol engine of the C3 Aircross offers better performance compared to the small-capacity 1.0L turbocharged and 1.5L normal petrol engines offered with the rivals. Additionally, it also attracts 7% lower GST compared to some of its rivals.

  • Several Missing Features Compared To Rivals

Since the C3 Aircross falls in the C-SUV segment, we expect it to offer a couple of features that we expect from a C-segment SUV. These features include automatic climate control, LED headlights, cruise control, electric sunroof, wireless phone charger and front ventilated seats.

  • Limited Legroom And Features In 5-Seater Variants

Since the 5-seater C3 Aircross does away with 3rd-row seats, the mounting points for the seats in the 5-seater variants of the C3 Aircross are different, resulting in less legroom. Furthermore, its 5-seater variants lack features like sliding 2nd-row seats, rear seat armrest and rear AC vents, which the 7-seater C3 Aircross offers.

  • No Automatic Transmission Available Yet

Citroen offer the C3 Aircross with a sole 1.2L turbo petrol engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission only. The SUV sold in the Indonesian market, on the other hand, comes with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. We expect Citroen to offer the same transmission option in India soon.

  • Limited Sales And Service Network

Citroen are expanding in the country but their network isn’t strong enough to cater to the tier-2 and tier-3 markets. Additionally, Citroen offerings are yet to prove their reliability in varied and harsh Indian driving conditions.
