Here we compare and objectively analyse the Triber's petrol variants and their features. What Are The Pros And Cons Of Renault Triber Petrol?
The pros or advantages of Renault Triber petrol are:
- Affordable pricing for a stylish, city-friendly 7-seater car
- Surprisingly spacious for a sub-4m 3-row MPV; although, the 3rd row is usable for children or shorter adults only
- Removable 3rd row offers an immensely practical boot measuring 625 litres, which is even more than that of the Ertiga with the 3rd row folded
- Considering the size, price and body style, the Triber remains in a class of its one
- Option of AMT automatic in the well-priced and VFM top 2 variants — No longer applicable after July 2025 update; AMT is only available in Triber top model
- The respectable 182mm ground clearance is comparable with SUVs
The Renault Triber petrol has the following shortcomings or problems:
- The small 1.0L normal petrol engine doesn’t offer enough power and torque for frequent highway driving and comfortably overtaking on single-lane highways
- Automatic transmission is only available in the top variant limiting its reach; we wish it were available in all variants or at least in Evolution and higher trims
- Missing features include cruise control, front armrest and TPMS — Addressed by Renault with July 2025 update
- Missing features include 2nd row armrests, option of captain seats
- The Techno variant offers poor value for money while the base model doesn’t get several must-have features we expect from an MPV; thus forcing you to stretch your budget for the top variant
What Is The Price Of Renault Triber Petrol Variants?
The Renault Triber petrol is available with a 1.0L normal petrol engine. It gets a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT automatic transmission. The petrol-manual range is available in all 4 variants with prices ranging from Rs. 6.30 lakh and going up to Rs. 8.65 lakh. The automatic transmission is only available in the top variant and costs Rs. 9.17 lakh, which is Rs. 52,000 higher than the comparable Emotion petrol-manual variant.

New Renault Triber Facelift Authentic — Base Model Standard Features
The base Authentic variant of the Renault Triber is only available with a 1.0L petrol engine and a manual transmission. It carries an ex-showroom price of Rs. 6.30 lakh (ex-showroom). The following table presents the notable standard features of the new Triber’s Authentic base model:

We wish the Triber’s base model also had features like:
- Day/night inside mirror
- Full wheel covers
- Music system
- Rear AC vents
While this variant doesn’t get several must-have features, the higher Evolution trim costs a whole lot more for the additional equipment. So, instead of a significant compromise in value for money with the Evolution trim, we will suggest that budget-conscious buyers go with the base model and add some aftermarket accessories.
Renault Triber 2025 Authentic Vs Evolution Variant — Price, Feature Comparison
The Triber’s Evolution variant costs Rs. 7.25 lakh, which is Rs. 95,000 more than the lower Authentic variant.

For the additional cost, the Evolution variant adds the following notable features over the base model:

|
|
|
Even in this variant, you may miss features like:
- Power mirrors
- Steering-mounted controls
- Day/night inside mirror
- Wheel covers
- Option of automatic transmission
While this variant adds some of the must-have features, it still misses out on some and offers a poor value for money (only 71%). So, even the Evolution variant is not recommended.
Renault Triber Evolution Vs Techno Variant — Price, Feature Comparison
The Triber’s Techno variant costs Rs. 8.0 lakh (ex-sh) and it is Rs. 75,000 more than the lower Evolution variant.

In this variant, you may miss the following features:
- Rear defogger
- Height-adjustable driver seat
- Front armrest
- Rear armrest
- Option of automatic transmission
The Techno variant mostly gets all important and must-have features we expect from a car at this price point. However, it offers even poorer value for money (67%) than the lower Evolution trim. So, we will suggest you skip this trim and stretch your budget for Emotion while the Techno trim is not recommended for Triber 2025 buyers.
Renault Triber Techno vs Emotion Variant — Top Model Price, Feature Comparison
Besides the manual transmission, the Triber’s Emotion variant also gets the 5-speed AMT automatic transmission. With the manual transmission, it costs Rs. 8.65 lakh, which is Rs. 65,000 higher than the Techno variant. The Emotion automatic costs Rs. 9.17 lakh, which is Rs. 52,000 higher than the manual transmission.

Even in the top variant, you may miss features like:
- 2nd row armrest
- Option of captain seats in 2nd row
The Emotion variant of the Triber mostly justifies the incremental cost over the base variant (85% VFM). For Triber manual as well as automatic buyers, this is our top recommendation as it not only offers better value for money than mid variants but also a nice balance of must-have and good-to-have features.
Which Variant Of The Renault Triber Petrol Should You Buy?
If you’re buying a Triber manual and are on a tight budget, the Authentic variant is worth buying. However, it misses out on several must-have features. So, you will have to spend a little on adding some accessories. The Evolution variant above it is an expensive upgrade, and it mainly adds features like rear AC, which is difficult to install post purchase. But most of the other features of this variant are easy to install from the aftermarket. So, base variant buyers won’t have AC vents for rear passengers.
The Techno variant also offers poor value for money and is not recommended.
If you’re getting the Triber as a long-term personal car, opt for the top Emotion variant, as it offers the best balance of value and features. This variant also gets the AMT automatic option. Whether you choose manual transmission or AMT, the Emotion variant remains our top recommendation for Triber buyers. Since AMT is reasonably priced, we recommend Triber manual buyers to strongly consider buying the Triber with the automatic transmission.

What Are The Engine Specifications Of The Renault Triber Petrol?
The Renault Triber is in a class of its own as it’s the only B2-segment 7-seater MPV for mass market buyers. So there isn’t another car to compare it with. The 1.0L petrol engine in the Triber makes 72PS of power and 96Nm of torque. The only car with a somewhat overlapping price tag is the Ertiga, which shares the powertrain with the Toyota Rumion.
The Triber’s engine is not ideal for sustained highway usage, especially with a full load as it doesn’t have the torque to quickly accelerate and overtake. We wish Renault also offered the option of the 1.0L turbo petrol engine with the Triber.

What Are The Dimensions Of The Renault Triber?
In terms of dimensions, the 625 litres of boot space in 2-row mode is the highlight as it’s more than that of the Ertiga. This is because of the removable 3rd row seats of the Triber. Another thing that stands out is its respectable SUV-like ground clearance measuring 182mm. Although, once you load the car up, it’ll sag but 182mm is a good starting point, especially for 4-5 occupants and it’ll rarely scrape on the usual tall speed breakers.
