What Are The Pros And Cons Of The 2025 Mahindra BE 6?
The pros or advantages of Mahindra BE 6 2025 are:
- The BE 6’s dramatic styling will attract a lot of attention on the road and help you stand out with this car
- While it’s not as long as the XEV 9e, the BE6 is still very wide; wider than Thar, Thar Roxx, Innova Hycross and even the Fortuner and almost as wide as the Scorpio N, which gives it tremendous road presence
- Even the BE6’s small battery pack is comparable with the larger ones of most other EVs
- The larger, 79kWh battery pack sets the Mahindra BE 6 several leagues apart from other EVs
- Groundbreaking set of technologies and features will give you a new level of ownership experience with the BE 6
- 380Nm of peak torque with all variants makes the BE6 very quick; with the top variant, the 286PS of power is also very sportscar like
- Given the exciting features and pricing, you should expect the car to get price hikes in the future; moreover, if the government starts withdrawing tax breaks for EVs, they will further get pricier; hence, buying early may be a good idea
- The BE 6 is not just a challenger, but a threat to the electric cars from Chinese or Chinese-owned brands like BYD and MG from a truly-Indian carmaker
- 400km+ of real-world range from the smaller battery pack and 500km+ from the larger battery pack makes it a suitable EV even for those who don’t have a home charging option
The 2025 Mahindra BE 6 has the following shortcomings or problems:
- Being a new-gen product from Mahindra, you may encounter some bugs with software as well as hardware during the ownership; if this is important for you, then you should consider waiting one or two years to give Mahindra’s tech team some time to sort out the bugs
- Staggered production/delivery plan will make the buyers wait longer if they are interested in the lower variants
- For some buyers, the design of the Mahindra BE6 may be too outlandish
- The torque and power of the BE6, especially with the 79kWh variant, may be too much for some buyers if they aren’t experienced enough to handle high power cars; 380Nm of EV torque is not going to feel like 380Nm of petrol or diesel car torque
- The more spacious, family-friendly and equally advanced XEV 9e is not all that expensive and worth a look
- 79kWh battery pack is limited to the top variant only
- Missing features like rear window curtains, power front passenger seat and sliding & reclining rear seats
What Is The Price Of Mahindra BE 6 Variants?
The Mahindra BE 6 is available in 5 main variants — Pack One, Pack One Above, Pack Two, Pack Three Select and Pack Three. The top model of the BE 6 is the only one that gets the larger 79kWh battery pack option and this variant isn’t available with the smaller battery pack either.

Please note that you have to buy at least one home charger with the car and the 7.2kW charger will cost Rs. 50,000, which is included in the price mentioned above. For the 11.2kW home charger, you will have to add another Rs. 25,000 to the cost.
Excluding the charger price from the ex-showroom price helps with lowering the car’s insurance cost and also registration if your state requires you to pay a certain percentage of the ex-showroom price for the RC.

Considering the price of the BE 6 base model, you may miss the following features:
- Parcel tray
- TPMS
- Keyless entry
- Rear window curtains
- 360-degree camera
- Power driver seat
- Front parking sensors
- Rear defogger
This variant doesn’t get a few must-have features, which should be standard in a car costing less than half of the BE 6 base model’s price. The higher Pack Two variant gets these features and, with the help of high perceived value features, such as glass roof and alloy wheels, it also offers better value for money. So, we strongly suggest you upgrade to the higher variant.
2025 Mahindra BE 6 Pack One vs Pack One Above Variant — Price, Feature Comparison
The Pack One Above variant also gets the same battery option and costs Rs. 21.0 lakh with 7.2kW wall charger. This price is Rs. 1.60 lakh more than the Pack One base model.

In this variant, you may miss features like:
- Parcel tray
- Keyless entry
- Rear window curtains
- 360-degree camera
- Power driver seat
- Front parking sensors
While this variant too doesn’t get a few must-have features, it gets most of them and justifies the incremental cost over the base model. Although, most of the value addition comes from features with high perceived value and low functionality such as glass roof and large, 19-inch alloy wheels. Still, we’ll suggest 9e buyers to consider buying the Pack Two, which is also our top recommendation for all 9e buyers.
2025 Mahindra BE 6 Pack One Above vs Pack Two Variant — Price, Feature Comparison
The Pack Two variant of the Mahindra BE6 also gets the same battery option and costs Rs. 22.40 lakh with the 7.2kW wall charger. This price is Rs. 1.40 lakh more than the lower Pack One Above trim.

Mahindra BE 6 Pack Two vs Pack Three Select Variant — Price, Feature Comparison
The Pack Three Select variant also gets the same battery option as the lower variants. This variant costs Rs. 2.60 lakh more and carries an ex-showroom price of 24.50 lakh and an additional Rs. 50,000 for 7.2kW wall charger kit.

In the Pack Three Select variant of the BE 6, you may miss features like:
- Rear window curtains
- Power front passenger seat
- Option of the larger batter pack
- Comprehensive ADAS hardware for more reliable performance
The Pack Three Select is not too shabby in terms of value for money but with an 87% VFM score, it doesn’t come close to matching the Pack Two’s 120% score. So, we’ll suggest you either buy the lower Pack Two variant or stretch your budget for the top model, which offers better value for money.
Mahindra BE 6 Pack Three Select vs Pack Three 79kWh Variant - Price, Feature Comparison
The BE 6 top model, Pack Three, is only available with the larger 79kWh battery pack option and costs Rs. 2.40 lakh more than the lower Pack Three Select 59kWh variant. It carries an ex-showroom price of Rs. 26.90 lakh and another Rs. 50,000 for the 7.2kW wall charger.

|
|
|
|
|
|
In the Pack Three 79kWh variant, you may miss features like:
- Rear window curtains
- Power front passenger seat
- Sliding & reclining rear seats
The Pack Three 79kWh top model of the BE 6 almost entirely justifies the incremental cost over the base trim with additional features. While Pack Two remains our top recommendation, the Pack Three is also worth considering for a feature-rich ownership experience. From a value standpoint, it’s a good option, but it doesn’t have enough must-have features to earn our top recommendation.
Which Variant Of The Mahindra BE 6 Should You Buy?
The variant lineup of the BE 6 is quite simple. The Pack One base model lacks some basic features that should be included considering the car’s asking price. However, some of these must-have and good-to-have features are available in the higher Pack One Above variant.
So, even though it’s not the most value-for-money variant, we still recommend the Pack One Above variant to most buyers. The compromise in terms of value for money is not too bad for some high-value features like alloy wheels, glass roof, 2-zone auto AC and TPMS. Besides, it’s not like jumping to the Pack Two will give you a significant boost in terms of value. And the jump to Pack Three Select is a bit distant — at Rs. 4.40 lakh. This is our top recommendation, which should suit most Mahindra BE6 buyers.
Even if you don’t mind paying for the Pack Three Select we’ll advise you to stretch your budget a bit more and buy the Pack Three top model. It is also the most value-for-money option in the BE 6 lineup and completely justifies the price gap over the base variant with the additional features.
What Are The Engine Specifications Of The Mahindra BE 6?
In terms of the specifications, the BE 6 offers 2 battery configurations — 59kWh and 79kWh; although, the larger battery option is limited to the top model costing Rs. 27.40 lakh (ex-showroom). Among mass market EVs with their smaller battery pack option, the BE6 excels with its enormous 59kWh battery pack. The battery capacity is comparable with the larger battery pack option of the eVitara, which gets 61.1kWh battery pack in the top model. And its much bigger than that of the Creta Electric’s 51.4kWh pack.
So, naturally, it has a longer range too. If not for their own BE6, the BE 6 would be the car offering the longest range with their base battery pack option. The car can also charge the fastest as it supports DC charging speeds of up to 140kW.
Its torque output of 380Nm embraces the rest of the electric cars, which get a torque output in the range of 193Nm (eVitara) to 310Nm (Atto3).

#Realistic mileage for Tata EVs is based on Tata’s testing and claims
**Windsor realistic mileage is based on V3Cars testing under mixed (city + highway) conditions
With the larger battery pack option, the BE 6 further demolishes the competition with its enormous 79kWh battery pack, even faster 175kW DC charging support, longest real-world range of more than 500km and a crazy 286PS of power output. The BE 6 is a beast and if you’re buying it, you better treat it with respect. Those who don’t have much experience driving such a powerful car should be a little careful with it, at least during the initial days of ownership while you’re getting accustomed to the behaviour of the car.

What Are The Dimensions Of The Mahindra BE 6?
The BE 6 is not as big as the XEV 9e but it’s just as wide. It’s wider than the Thar Roxx, Innova Hycross and even Fortuner. You’ll have to be careful managing its width in traffic but this width will also give it tremendous road presence. If you count out Mahindra’s own XEV 9e, the BE 6 comes across as the widest among EVs from mass-market brands. However, its length should make it more manageable than the even bigger XEV 9e.
Amongst its peers, the BE 6 has the longest wheelbase too. Considerably longer than that of the Windsor, the eVitara and even the Atto3. It also offers the best ground clearance, boot space and a large frunk. The BE6 also has the largest wheel size measuring 19 inches with the option of 20 inches available as an accessory. You can count on catching a lot of attention with the BE 6. And it’ll be unlike any other electric, and even several non-electric cars at similar price points.
