In this article update, we’ve also included the engine and dimension comparison of the 2024 Hyundai Creta facelift.
What Are The Pros And Cons Of Honda Elevate Petrol?
The pros or advantages of Honda Elevate petrol are:
- Well-loaded base variant gets most of the must-have features for a car of its price range
- Segment-leading ground clearance of 220mm is beyond exceptional for its class
- Segment-best boot space of 458L
- ADAS improves the safety quotient of the Elevate
- Good road presence with a typical boxy SUV styling
- Honda’s proven 1.5L normal petrol engine is a reliable companion and perfect for long-term ownership
- CVT automatic costs only Rs. 1.0 - 1.03 lakh more than the manual
The Honda Elevate petrol has the following shortcomings or problems:
- Missing features like panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, TPMS and power driver seat
- The normal petrol engine doesn’t have the torque and drivability of a turbocharged or hybrid engine
- No torquey engine options like turbo petrol, turbo diesel, hybrid petrol
- Rear armrest and ADAS remain exclusive to the Elevate top model; the City gets rear armrest as standard and ADAS in V and higher variants
- Side and curtain airbags are exclusive to the top variant — Addressed by Honda in April 2024 update
What is the Price of Honda Elevate Petrol Variants?
The Honda Elevate gets a 1.5L normal petrol engine with the option of a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic transmission.
The petrol-manual powertrain is available with all 4 variants. It starts from Rs. 11.91 lakh and stretches up to Rs. 15.41 lakh (ex-showroom). The CVT automatic transmission is available with all but the base variant of the Elevate. The 3 Elevate petrol-automatic variants cost between Rs. 13.71 lakh and Rs. 16.43 lakh. The automatic transmission carries a premium of Rs. 1.0 - 1.03 lakh over the comparable manual variant.

Honda Elevate Petrol SV - Base Model Standard Features
The base SV variant of the Elevate only gets the petrol-manual powertrain and costs Rs. 11.91 lakh (ex-showroom). It gets the following notable features:

While the SV variant seems fairly loaded with mostly must-have features, you may miss the following features:
- Rear armrest
- Rear washer wiper
- Rear defogger
- TPMS
- Wheel covers
- Touchscreen/music system
Except for a few must-have features, which are easy to install from the aftermarket, the base SV variant of the Elevate is well-loaded. However, the price gap from the base to the V variant is now only Rs. 80,000 (down from Rs. 1.11 lakh). So, with only a nominal hit in value for money, you can get many of the must-have features from the V variant along with the factory finish and manufacturer warranty. So, we’ll suggest even budget conscious buyers to upgrade to the V variant.
Honda Elevate Petrol SV vs V Variant - Price, Feature Comparison
The V variant is available with both petrol-manual and petrol-automatic powertrains. With the petrol-manual powertrain, it costs Rs. 12.71 lakh. With the automatic, it costs Rs. 13.71 lakh, which is Rs. 1.0 lakh more than the manual. Compared to the SV petrol-manual, it costs Rs. 80,000 more.

For an SUV of this class and price point, you may miss the following features in this variant:
- TPMS
- Rear armrest
- Rear washer wiper
- Cruise control
The V variant doesn’t completely justify the incremental asking price for additional features over the base model. But the gap is now closer after the price revision. So, we find the V variant suitable for budget buyers. However, Elevate automatic buyers should consider stretching the budget for a higher variant.
Honda Elevate Petrol V vs VX Variant - Price, Features Comparison
The VX variant of the Elevate costs Rs. 14.10 lakh with the manual and Rs. 15.10 lakh with the automatic transmission. The VX is Rs. 1.39 lakh more expensive than the lower V variant.

Even in the VX variant, you don’t get features like:
- Rear armrest
- Cruise control
- ADAS features
The VX variant justifies the price gap from the base variant. However, the ZX top model of the Elevate just offers a much better value for money. Therefore, we’ll suggest VX buyers to instead go for the ZX variant even though the VX is worth considering from a value and feature standpoint.
Honda Elevate Petrol VX vs ZX Top Model - Price, Features Comparison
The Elevate ZX petrol-manual costs Rs. 15.41 lakh. With the automatic transmission, it costs Rs. 16.43 lakh. The Elevate ZX Rs. 1.33 lakh more expensive than the lower VX variant.

The ZX top variant of the Elevate is available with petrol-manual and petrol-automatic options. It adds the following notable features:

Even in the top variant, you don’t get features like:
- Panoramic sunroof
- Ventilated front seats
- Power driver seat adjustment
- Cooled glovebox
With the ADAS features, the ZX variant ends up offering the best value for money among all Elevate’s variants. This is applicable for manual as well as automatic buyers. Thus, the Elevate ZX is our top recommendation.
Which Variant Of The Honda Elevate Petrol Should You Buy?
The Elevate’s base variant was a fantastic option for budget-conscious buyers. But after the price and feature revision, the jump to V variant comes across as a more suitable choice even though it doesn’t completely justify the price gap. For the convenience of getting factory-finish and manufacturer warranty, the small compromise in value is acceptable.
From there, the VX offers a decent value for money but the ZX remains our top pick. The ADAS features work disproportionately in its favour and make it our top recommendation. The VX remains a decent option but the ZX variant seems like a more balanced choice. If you absolutely don’t want ADAS features, then the VX is also worth buying.

For the automatic transmission, V is not recommended while ZX is our top recommendation and the most value for money variant of the Elevate. Although the VX is also a good choice for buyers who don’t want too much tech in their driving experience and are strictly against having ADAS features in their car.

When comparing the Elevate with smaller turbo petrol engines in the C-SUV segment space, the deficiencies surface more clearly. This is because turbo petrol engines offer better torque at lower RPMs, and thus, better drivability without compromising on the mileage front.

What Are The Dimensions Of The Honda Elevate?
Compared to the other C-segment SUVs, the Elevate is about as big as a typical car from this group. While the Elevate offers better boot space than all of its competitors, it truly shines with its class-demolishing ground clearance of 220mm. So, if you are buying a C-segment SUV primarily for higher ground clearance, then you need not look beyond the Elevate.

A very good comparison and article in one go. kudos
R/sir, my driving is 10000 km yearly. I want to purchase suv like Elevate, seltos, creta grand vitara in automatic. Please suggest me in petrol vs diesel
I am confused Elevate hardly sells , not in top 25 or 30. Its about managing 4k sales. Mileage 12kmpl for its size is ok. some would say 14. Are these Compact SUV comfortable for long ride of 4/5hrs.. 2nd row seats don't recline. and space is an issue. Why is CRETA Adventure sports so expensive by 6 lacs to Elevate then at 22lacs on road.
