Volkswagen Virtus Launching Soon – What To Expect? | V3Cars

Volkswagen India are set to announce the prices and variant details of the 2022 Virtus on May 9. Volkswagen unveiled the Virtus on March 8 and also opened the pre-bookings window the same day. The Virtus is set to become the second Volkswagen to be based on the localised MQB-A0 IN platform. The upcoming Virtus will rival the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Skoda Slavia.

Volkswagen will offer the Virtus into two versions – Dynamic and Performance. The Dynamic line will be offered with the 1.0L turbo petrol while the Performance line will get the 1.5L turbo petrol. While there will be multiple variants in the Dynamic line, we expect Volkswagen India to offer the 1.5L turbo petrol in a fully specced, top-end variant. Both versions get features like auto headlamps, a touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 16-inch wheels, an 8-speaker premium sound system, and multiple safety features as standard.

Since the Virtus will be pretty loaded with features right from the base variants, we expect Volkswagen to price the compact sedan at a premium over the corresponding variants of its Czech sibling, the Skoda Slavia. The Skoda Slavia is currently priced from Rs. 10.69 lakh to Rs. 17.79 lakh ex-showroom. We expect Volkswagen India to price the Virtus in the range of Rs. 11 lakh to Rs. 18 lakh ex-showroom.
