Volkswagen Virtus, Taigun Now Get 6 Airbags As Standard – Prices Unchanged | V3Cars
Exactly a month after sister brand Skoda India updated the Slavia and Kushaq with 6 airbags as standard across the range, Volkswagen have now done the same with the Virtus and Taigun. All variants of the Volkswagen Virtus and Taigun now offer 6 airbags as standard. The Taigun and Virtus are already 5-star GNCAP rated vehicles and the updated safety features should make them even safer in the event of a crash.
VW Virtus, Taigun Prices Unchanged Despite 6 Airbag Update
For MY2024, all variants of the Virtus and Taigun get 6 airbags as standard. Earlier, the base Comfortline and mid Highline variant only offered dual airbags as standard. Only the Topline and GT variants offered 6 airbags as standard. Surprisingly, despite the significant update, prices of the Virtus and Taigun remain unchanged, at least for now.
Commenting on this remarkable achievement, Mr. Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India said:
Today, we take great pride in announcing our portfolio of India 2.0 cars offering 6 airbags as standard across the line-up. With this, not only are we showcasing our commitment towards safer mobility but also reaffirming our core belief of safety being a key product pillar for Volkswagen India. We are also delighted to have achieved the over 1 lakh sales milestone by the Taigun and Virtus. We are grateful to our customers and will continue to offer aspirational, premium and competitive product offerings for the market.
Among C-segment sedans in the country, the Verna, City, Slavia and now the Virtus offer 6 airbags as standard. The Ciaz only gets front dual airbags.
Among C-segment SUVs, the Citroen C3 Aircross only offers dual airbags in all variants. The Grand Vitara and Urban Cruiser Hyryder offer front dual airbags in their Sigma and Delta, and E and S, variants, respectively, while higher variants get 6 airbags. The Creta and Seltos are the only other C-segment SUVs in the segment apart from the Kushaq and Taigun to offer 6 airbags as standard.
