VW Virtus Gets New GT Line, GT Plus Sport And Highline Plus Variants – Taigun Variants Rejigged | V3Cars

Volkswagen have rejigged the variant lineup of both the Virtus and Taigun by introducing 2 new broad trims called the Chrome and Sport. As part of the rejig, the Virtus 1.0L turbo petrol is now available in a new, sporty GT Line variant. Volkswagen have also removed the GT, GT Plus and GT Edge variants powered by the 1.5L turbo petrol engine and replaced them with the GT Plus Sport variant. Additionally, the standard Virtus and Taiun variants now get a new Highline Plus mid variant in an effort to offer “more for less”.

The GT variants of the 2024 Virtus are available with both the 1.0L turbo petrol and 1.5L turbo petrol engines with manual and automatic transmission options. Here are the ex-showroom prices of the Virtus GT Line and GT Plus Sport variants:

The Volkswagen GT Line automatic variant is priced at a premium of Rs. 1.10 lakh over the manual variant, while the GT Plus Sport automatic variant costs Rs. 1.55 lakh more than the corresponding manual variant.

On the inside, both the Virtus GT Line and GT Plus Sport variants get an all-black cabin with aluminium pedals. While the GT Line gets black semi-leatherette seat upholstery, the GT Plus Sport gets black leatherette upholstery with contrast red stitching. The more expensive variant also gets front ventilated seats, electrically adjustable front seats, and a red insert on the steering wheel.

New VW Virtus And Taigun Highline Plus Variants Introduced 

While the GT Line and GT Plus Sport variants are now offered under the Sport trim, the Comfortline, Highline and Topline variants come under the Chrome trim. As part of the latest update, Volkswagen have introduced new Highline Plus variants of the Virtus and Taigun. They sit between the mid Highline and Topline top variants of either models. The Highline Plus variant of the Virtus and Taigun are only offered with the 1.0L turbo petrol engine with manual and automatic transmission options. 

The Highline Plus variants of the Virtus and Taigun offer the following features:

  • 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system
  • 8.0-inch digital driver’s display
  • Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
  • Wireless phone charger
  • Automatic climate control
  • Rearview camera
  • Auto-dimming IRVM
  • Auto headlamps
  • Rain-sensing wipers
  • Push-button start-stop
  • Auto coming/leaving home headlamps    

The Virtus Highline Plus is priced at Rs. 13.88 lakh for the manual variant and Rs. 14.98 lakh for the automatic, which are Rs. 86,000 more than the lower Highline variant.

The Taigun Highline Plus is priced at Rs. 14.27 lakh for the manual variant and Rs. 15.37 lakh for the automatic variant, which are Rs. 53,900 to Rs. 88,900 more than the lower Highline automatic and manual variants, respectively.

Additionally, the Topline variants of the Virtus and Taigun now come with subwoofer and amplifier.
