Toyota Innova EV Concept Showcased In Indonesia – Specs, Features And Other Details | V3Cars
Toyota have showcased the Innova EV at the Indonesia International Motor Show. The all-electric Innova, which was first showcased in 2022, is based on the Innova Crysta’s body shell. The latest iteration of the Innova EV gets a few styling updates over the model showcased 3 years ago. Furthermore, Toyota have also revealed a few details regarding its electric powertrain.

Toyota Innova EV – Powertrain Specs & Performance
Toyota have equipped the Innova EV with a total battery capacity of 59.3kWh. Since the Innova EV is not based on a skateboard architecture like the latest Maruti Suzuki e Vitara or Toyota Urban Cruiser EV, the Innova EV utilises multiple smaller battery modules mounted under the floorboard and a larger battery pack under the bonnet.
In terms of performance, the Innova EV produces 182PS of power and 700Nm of torque. Toyota are yet to reveal details such as the range and charging time though. Speaking of charging, the charging port is located at the rear, hidden under a flap similar to the one in the Innova Crysta diesel and petrol models.
Design And Features Of Toyota Innova EV
While the bodyshell of the Innova EV is the same as the Innova Crysta sold in India, the electric MPV gets a few key differences. These include a closed off grille, sportier LED projector headlamps and DRLs, revised bumpers, LED tail lights as well as blacked out roof and pillars. It also gets a ‘BEV’ badge on the tailgate to signify its electric powertrain.
The interior of the Innova EV is largely the same as the Innova Crysta. Feature highlights include a touchscreen infotainment system, a digital clock, leather-wrapped steering wheel and analogue dials with a digital multi-info display (MID). Interestingly, the gets a row of buttons in place of the gear lever to control drive modes and other vehicle functions. Additionally, the Innova electric also gets 2nd row captain seats separated by a centre console equipped with a wireless charger and several cubby holes. 2nd row passengers also get large entertainment screens that are mounted to the back of the front seats.
Toyota Innova EV – Will It Come To India?
At the moment, Toyota are yet to confirm if the Innova EV will enter production for Southeast Asian markets. We believe Toyota are using the Innova EV to showcase their prowess in making electric vehicles. Besides, Toyota have committed to launch the Urban Cruiser EV in India in the near future. Hence, the chances of seeing an all-electric Innova, that too one based on an older model (Crysta), remains slim.
