Tata Tiago NRG (Energy) Crossover Spotted Ahead Of Launch | V3Cars
The upcoming 2021 Tata Tiago NRG (read as energy) was recently spotted at a dealership ahead of the launch. Tata have already confirmed that the NRG will go on sale on August 4, 2021.
These latest photos clearly show us the side profile, top, rear and dashboard of the car. Let’s start from the front, which is barely visible.
Tata Tiago NRG Facelift Front Design
It looks like the 2021 Tiago NRG will get partial front cladding on the front. The new NRG will share the rest of the front end design with the Tiago facelift, which went on sale early last year.
2021 Tata Tiago NRG Side Profile
Along the side, the Tiago NRG has similar black plastic cladding visually connecting the front and the rear bumpers. The wheel arches, the running board at the bottom and the doors get this cladding to protect against minor scratches and bumps.
The door handles are black to highlight the rugged and utilitarian nature of the car. However, it’s unclear t the moment if the door handles are painted in black or they have the same, rough material as the cladding. The new car also gets dual-tone alloy wheels with a 5-spoke design, while the older one had a 4-spoke design with a black and machined look.
Tata Tiago NRG Rear Design
At the rear, the car continues with the cladding at the bottom of the bumper to hide that visual mass and give it a raised appearance. Speaking of raised, the older Tiago NRG had a respectable 180mm of ground clearance and we are expecting nothing less from the new one. Thanks to this raised height, the Tiago NRG is not just all show with rugged styling all around like the Maruti Suzuki Arena Celerio X. The NRG facelift at least has some specs to add credibility to justify the aggressive styling.
Just like the older NRG, the new one also retains the black cladding on the boot lid. We have no idea what practical purpose it serves, but it certainly makes the car easily recognizable and helps it stand out.
Tiago NRG Facelift - Dual-Tone Roof
Coming to the top, you can see that the car gets black roof treatment for a dual-tone effect. Although, this dual-tone design is barely noticeable from the side as the black from the roof doesn’t spill over to the sides. Moreover, the car only gets black B and C pillars to give it a floating-roof appearance. However, what is easily visible from the sides is the pair of roof rails.
Tata Tiago NRG 2021 Interior Design
Inside, the Tiago NRG facelift gets similar features and designs as the regular Tiago. There’s the new steering wheel with media controls, digital instrument cluster, push-button start/stop, manual AC controls, and a Harman-tuned touchscreen music system.
Expected Engine Specs for Tiago NRG Facelift
In terms of specifications, the car will retain the same powerplant and transmission as the Tiago. That means a 1.2-litre normal petrol engine with a 5-speed manual and AMT automatic. This engine makes 86PS of power at 6000rpm and 113nm of torque at 3300rpm. In the Tiago, this engine claims to deliver a mileage of around 20kmpl. We are expecting the NRG to offer similar performance and fuel efficiency.
Tiago NRG Expected Prices
The regular Tiago costs roughly between Rs. 5.0 and Rs. 7.0 lakh. We are expecting the NRG to come in XT, XZ and XZ Plus variants. These variants of the 2021 Tiago NRG, which could cost about Rs. 30,000 more than the comparable variants of the normal Tiago.
