Tata Nexon Dark Edition Launch Soon | V3Cars
Tata launched the Harrier Dark Edition and it was received well by the Indian car buyers. Now, the carmaker is gearing up to give the same treatment to the Nexon SUV as well. We say so as an example of the Tata Nexon Dark Edition was spotted at a dealership stockyard recently.
As expected, it gets an all-black paint job with grey inserts on the grille, on the window line and on the tailgate. It also gets blacked-out alloys and a ‘#DARK’ badging on the front fender. Even the Nexon lettering on the tailgate has been finished in matte black to go with the black theme of the SUV. Similarly, on the inside, the dual-tone beige-black theme has been swapped for an all-black cabin.
Although there is no official confirmation in which variants the Dark Edition will be offered, it should be available in the higher variants like XZ, XZ+, XZ+(S) and XZ+(O). For reference, the Harrier Dark Edition is offered in the top four variants: XT, XT+, XZ and XZ+.
Under the hood, the Nexon Dark Edition will be offered with the same set of engines as the standard car. It gets a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine (120PS and 170Nm) and a 1.5-litre diesel engine (110PS and 260Nm). Both the engines are mated to a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed AMT.
Features on the offer will also remain similar to the corresponding variants. It will get features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, traction control, hill hold control, ISOFIX child seat anchors, multiple driving modes, auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control, auto AC with rear AC vents, electric sunroof, iRA connected car tech, tyre pressure monitoring system, push-button start, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a Harman sound system.
Like the Harrier Dark Edition, the Nexon Dark Edition is expected to be priced at a premium of Rs 20,000 over the corresponding variants. The Nexon is currently priced from Rs 7.19 lakh to Rs 12.95 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It will continue to rival the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Toyota Urban Crusier, Mahindra XUV300, Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger.
