Tata Altroz iTurbo Unveiled Ahead of January 22 Launch | V3Cars

Tata has officially unveiled the performance-oriented version of the petrol Altroz christened, the Altroz iTurbo. Bookings for the turbocharged Altroz are already underway for a token amount of Rs 11,000 and it will go on sale on 22 January 2021.

As the name suggests, the Altroz iTurbo gets a turbocharged variant of the 1.2-litre petrol engine making 110PS and 140Nm, 24PS and 27Nm more than the standard Altroz petrol. At launch, it will be offered with a 5-speed manual transmission only but it is expected to get a dual-clutch automatic soon. The Altroz iTurbo has a claimed fuel economy of 18.13kmpl.

Tata will offer the Altroz iTurbo in three variants only: XT, XZ and the newly introduced XZ+ variant. The XZ+ variant gets additional features like connected car tech with voice commands, Xpress Cool, leatherette seats, one shot up power windows and personalised wallpapers for touchscreen. Other than these, Tata is also offering unique features on the Altroz iTurbo in the form of a Sports mode and 2 additional tweeters from Harman.

Other features remain similar to the standard Altroz petrol. It gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, cruise control, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ambient lighting, and a semi-digital instrument cluster. 

In terms of design, the Altroz iTurbo looks identical to the standard model save for the iTurbo badging on the back. Tata has also introduced a new Harbour Blue colour on the Altroz and it will be offered on XM+ variant onwards. Tata has also taken this opportunity to update the interior of the hatchback. It now gets Black and light Grey interiors instead of the Black and Dark Grey colour. 

While the standard Altroz petrol retails from Rs 5.44 lakh to Rs 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the Altroz iTurbo is expected to be priced from Rs 7.5 lakh to Rs 9.0 lakh. It will take on likes of the Polo TSI and the turbo variants of the i20.
