Skoda Slavia And Kushaq With New 8.0-inch Infotainment System Start Reaching Dealerships | V3Cars
Skoda India have now started to ship the new Kushaq and Slavia with Panasonic-sourced 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The smaller infotainment system replaces the 10.1-inch unit owing to the shortage of semiconductors.
One of the highlights of the Kushaq and Slavia was the 10.1-inch infotainment system. Not only does it offer a fluid experience but also wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. In addition to that, it also offers Skoda apps along with 3rd party apps like Gaana. The downsized 8.0-inch touchscreen unit is similar to the ones we saw in the previous-gen Octavia and Superb sedans.

While the 8.0-inch infotainment is smaller and misses out on wireless connectivity, it gets physical knobs for volume and FM tuning along with capacitive shortcut keys. The 10.1-inch unit missed out on physical shortcut hotkeys and volume and tuning knobs.
Along with the 10.1-inch system, Skoda India also removed the premium sound system with amplifier and subwoofer from the Slavia. Meanwhile, Skoda India launched a pared down version of the Kushaq – called the Active Peace and Ambition Classic – to circumvent the issue of semiconductor shortage.

The 2 variants lost features such as automatic climate control and power-folding ORVMs. However, Skoda India have stated that buyers will get the option to upgrade to the features that are currently missing once the semiconductor shortage issue is resolved. Hence, we can expect Skoda to offer the choice of upgrade to the bigger and better 10.1-inch touchscreen unit in the near future.
