Skoda Kylaq Name Revealed For Upcoming Brezza, Nexon Rival | V3Cars

Skoda Auto India have officially named their upcoming B2-segment SUV the Kylaq. Skoda finalised the name after running a nation-wide campaign that included over 2 lakh entries. The new Skoda Kylaq is expected to launch in early 2025, adding to the growing competition in the B2 SUV segment.

Skoda Kylaq – Expected Powertrain And Performance

Under the hood, the Skoda Kylaq is expected to be powered by the brand’s 1.0 turbo petrol engine, which also powers the base and mid-spec variants of the Slavia and Kushaq. This engine produces 115PS of power and 178Nm of torque, and will likely be offered with the choice of a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

Skoda Kylaq – Expected Features

The Kylaq is expected to offer a range of modern features to appeal to Indian car buyers. A 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity is likely, along with a sunroof and a fully digital driver's display for a premium feel. Comfort and convenience features could include ventilated front seats and a wireless phone charger.

Skoda Kylaq Safety Features

Like all Skoda models sold in the country currently, expect the upcoming Kylaq SUV to offer standard safety features like 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), ISOFIX child seat mounts, and a 360-degree surround view camera.

The Skoda Kylaq is expected to be priced from around Rs 8.50 lakh (ex-showroom). This will position it competitively against other B2-segment SUVs such as the Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Maruti Brezza, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnite. Additionally, the Kylaq will also face competition from B2-segment crossovers like the Maruti Fronx and Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor.
