Skoda Kushaq’s Interior Teased In Official Sketches | V3Cars

Skoda is all set to debut the Kushaq SUV on 18 March 2021 and as the date is approaching, the carmaker has started giving us a sneak peek of the upcoming SUV. While the earlier set of official sketches revealed the SUV’s exterior design, the latest set of sketches throw light on the SUV’s cabin.

As expected, Kushaq’s interior look similar to the Vision IN concept. It gets a three-layered setup with a chrome element running across the width of the dashboard. Other elements visible include hexagonal side AC vents and a big touchscreen infotainment system. It also features colour-coded elements on the dashboard, central console and door trim as we have seen on the Vision IN concept.

It also gets a digital instrument cluster which may or may not make it to the production-spec model. Coming to the central console, it misses out on dials for the climate control system suggesting it might feature touch-based controls for the climate control. The sketch showcases a two-spoke steering wheel while the production-spec model is expected to get a three-spoke unit.

On the features front, the Kushaq is expected to get upto six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill launch assist, tyre pressure monitoring system, auto AC, rain-sensing wipers, auto LED headlamps, cruise control and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Kushaq will be offered with two petrol engines: a 1.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engine and a 1.5-litre TSI turbo petrol engine. The 1.0-litre is already on offer in the Polo and Vento and it makes 110PS and 175Nm paired to either a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. The 1.5-litre unit, on the other hand, is offered on the Karoq and it makes 150PS and 250Nm paired to either a 6-speed MT or a 7-speed DSG.

Skoda is expected to launch the Kushaq by mid-2021. Prices are expected to range from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 16 lakh.  It will take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, Renault Duster and the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun. Price-wise, it will also compete with some variants of the MG Hector and the Tata Harrier.
