Skoda Kushaq, Slavia, Kylaq Recalled Again Over Seatbelt Issue

Skoda had previously issued a recall for the same models in May 2025, which affected a total of 25,722 units.

Details Of The Latest Skoda Recall

The latest Skoda recall affects vehicles manufactured between December 1, 2021 to May 31, 2025. According to the document issued by SIAM, the affected cars may have cracks in the metal base frame for the rear seatbelt. Additionally, some cars may have the wrong seatbelt parts installed in either the front or rear.

Safety Concern For Rear Passengers

This defect poses a potential safety risk to passengers occupying the rear seats, as the seatbelts may not function as intended during a frontal impact. In such a scenario, the compromised seatbelts may not adequately restrain rear seat occupants, increasing the risk of injury.

Skoda’s Response And What Owners Should Do

Skoda India are expected to contact owners of the affected vehicles to schedule inspections and repairs. The company will likely offer the necessary corrective measures, including inspection and replacement of the faulty parts, free of charge to the customers.

If you own a Skoda Kushaq, Slavia, or Kylaq manufactured within the specified period, it is crucial to:

  • Check the Skoda India recall page on their official website and enter your car’s Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) for confirmation.
