Skoda Kushaq Production Begins | V3Cars
Skoda has started the production of the Kuhsaq SUV ahead of its launch. Skoda is expected to launch the Kushaq SUV by the end of this month with test drives and deliveries to get underway from July 2021.
Skoda has already unveiled the Kushaq SUV. So, let’s take a look at what we know about the SUV so far. Based on the MQB A0 IN platform, the Kushaq is 4225mm long, 1760mm wide and 1612mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 2651mm which is not only bigger than its rivals like the Creta and Seltos (2610mm) but also bigger than the now-discontinued Karoq SUV (2638mm). The Kushaq has a ground clearance of 188m and a boot space of 385 litres which can be further expanded to 1405 litres by folding the 60:40 split rear seats.
Under the hood, the SUV will be offered with two turbo petrol engines including a 1.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engine making 115PS and 175Nm mated to a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed AT. The other engine on offer will be a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine making 150PS and 250Nm mated to either a 6-speed MT or a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic.

It gets auto LED headlamps, ventilated front seats, rain-sensing wipers, an electric sunroof, wireless charging, ambient lighting, auto AC with rear AC vents, auto-dimming IRVM, bi-spoke multi-functional steering wheel and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also gets basic connected car tech features like geofencing, car tracking, service reminders and insurance reminders.
Safety features on offer include dual front airbags (higher variant gets up to 6 airbags), ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, parking camera, electronic stability control (standard), hill launch assist, ISOFIX child seat anchors and multi-collision braking.
Prices of the Skoda Kushaq are expected to range from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 17 lakh. It will take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Renault Duster, Nissan Kicks and its platform sibling, the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun.
